  8. TimeReport is a weekly time sheet program for Palm. The program keeps track of
  9. the time you have spent on different projects or tasks. To enter a time for a
  10. project, simply tap on the project and day and enter the time.

  13. Installing

  15. Use HotSync to install the file TimeReport.prc on your Palm handheld. The first
  16. time you start the TimeReport program after an upgrade the TimeReport database
  17. is be sorted. If you have a very large database this may take a few seconds.

  20. Using TimeReport

  22. When you use the program for the first time you should define some tasks. Tap the
  23. "Edit Task" button and the "New" button to open a task dialog window. You can now
  24. enter a name for a task. The name will be shown in the left most column in the
  25. week view. You can also enter some more information for the task, a company name,
  26. status code, art code and project number. The status code is used to calculate
  27. separate week sums for the "F" tasks and "IF" tasks. The information in the other
  28. fields are currently not used, but in the future the information will be
  29. transferred to a PC during a HotSync operation.

  32. The week view

  34. You can now start reporting time. Tap in the left most column in the week view to
  35. insert a task. A popup menu appears there you can select a task. If you normally
  36. reports time on the same tasks each week it may be convenient to let the program
  37. automatically insert the tasks in left most column. Select "Save as Default Week"
  38. in the Options menu to save the current week as a template for all new weeks.

  40. You can switch week by a tapping on the week arrows or pressing the scroll
  41. buttons. It is also possible to go directly to a week. Tap on the "Go to..."
  42. button and select a week. Use the small scroll arrows to scroll the rows and
  43. columns in the time table.

  45. To enter a time for a task, simply tap in the cell for a day and a task. A time
  46. dialog box appears where you can enter a time.

  51. In the time dialog box you can enter the time for a task. Enter the work period
  52. and optionally a lunch period and the program will show the total time in hours
  53. and minutes below. Before the total time entered in the week view it is rounded
  54. to nearest half hour. In the preferences dialog you can select to round the time
  55. do nearest 6, 12, 15, 30 or 60 minutes.

  57. The start and stop button may be used to insert the current time as the start or
  58. end time for the work period.

  60. It is also possible to make a quick entry of a time by tapping on one of the
  61. buttons with a predefined time at the bottom of the dialog box. You can change
  62. the values of the quick entry buttons in the Preferences dialog.

  65. The month view

  67. It is also possible to view all times reported for a month. Tap on the month
  68. symbol in the lower left corner to open the month view. This view shows the total
  69. time for each task and week during a month. Highlighted weeks are full weeks. The
  70. first and last week in a month is normally not a full week.

  72. You can switch month by a tapping on the month arrows or pressing the scroll
  73. buttons. It is also possible to go directly to a month. Tap on the "Go to..."
  74. button and select a month.

  76. Tap on a week number to open the week view for the selected week.

  79. Exporting data

  81. Currently there are no conduits for synchronizing the TimeReport program with a
  82. PC program. The only way to export data is to create a memo in the PalmPilot.
  83. Select "Export Week to Memo" or "Export Month to Memo" in the "Record" menu to
  84. create a memo for the displayed week or month.

  86. If you have the Palm programs PalmPrint or SDS Mail you can also print or email
  87. the data from TimeReport. Select "Print Week" or "Mail Week" in the "Record" menu
  88. to print or mail a week. SDS Mail requires a working internet connection as well.

  93. TimeReport is a shareware program. You can try it for an evaluation period. After
  94. 30 days you must pay the shareware fee if you want to continue to use the

  97. dialog during program startup.
