Description
Microsoft Windows Media Player is based on the DirectShow architecture and designed to provide the most extensible, flexible, and convenient player for accessing multimedia content. You can play most file formats, including Windows Media (formerly NetShow), ASF, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, WAV, AVI, MIDI, VOD, AU, MP3, and QuickTime files--all from one easy-to-use application. A Favorites menu lets you save your favorite clips for quick and easy replay. The menu even contains pointers to cool content sites. Windows Media Player can play anything from low-bandwidth audio to full-screen video, and you can resize the video window, even up to full screen, for optimal placement. When you access an audio or video clip, Windows Media Player also checks to see if the required codec is installed. If not, it will automatically download the codec for you, and then play the file. Content streams (which can be from different servers or composed of different media types) can be played without pausing in between clips and the stream to the Windows Media Player automatically adjusts in several ways to offer optimal performance. This full release also features Music, Radio, and Media Guide buttons on the Media Player toolbar.
