  7. Lauki is an instrument whose visual qualities define the musical outcome. It consists of a 
  8. grid of many hundred identical small boxes which trigger a looping sound when clicked on.
  9.  By importing custom sounds, you are able to use Lauki as a palette where sounds are set 
  10. into looping patterns in different frequencies according to the boxesâ•’ position on the 
  11. screen. 
  12. The boxes can be dragged (individually or in groups) around the screen, resulting in pitch 
  13. changes and tonal differences. You can create custom grids that can be easily saved and 
  14. loaded up again later. Different sounds can be applied to the boxes from a floating control
  15.  panel, used to control which part of the sound is going to loop as well as the frequency of
  16.  it. The number of sounds is limited to 8 and they cycle, according to the users settings, 
  17. until the box is deselected.
  18. The control panel can be called up any time to change the settings of what is happening. 
  19. There is a sampling option which records on the fly what is being played (or anything being
  20.  played on the computer½s soundcard) making it possible to merge the ongoing loops into one
  21.  sound. This recorded sound can then be used on the next box, which creates makes it 
  22. possible to build up quite complex rhythmical or sonic patterns.

  40. Arrow Up - Increase general Volume
  41. Arrow Down - Decrease general Volume
  42. "F" Enable / disable the Info field.
  43. "P" to toggle panning.
  44. "M" to toggle microtones.
  45. "T" to switch Trigger/Gate mode.
  46. "X" to toggle pitch.
  47. "S" to sample from the sound in/mic/etc.. . If Overwrite is selected the selected 
  48. sound in sound palette will be overwritten, if not it will create a new sound on the menu.

  50. Selection -
  51. Click and drag to make selections.
  52. SHIFT + click and drag to add new selection to the previous one.

  55. Click to trigger selectd sound on a box.
  56. Right Click to stop its sound.
  57. Keys 1 to 9 to adjust the volume of a box when triggering it.
  58. Spacebar + drag to move boxes.
  59. "L" to Lock selected boxes.
  60. "O" to switch Loop mode.
  61. "Z" to Mute selected boxes.
  62. "U" to Pause selected boxes.

  68. Please note that using the menus (save, save as, open, new ...) will stop the sound.
