This window lets you test the connections between your computer and MIDI devices.
<br><br>
Use this window when you are unable to record from, or play to an external MIDI synthesizer.
The most common problem is having the cables connected wrong.
The Computer's MIDI Out port must be connected to the synthesizer's MIDI In port,
and the Computer's MIDI In port must be connected to the synthesizer's MIDI Out port,
as shown in the following diagram.

To test receiving notes and other MIDI events from MIDI Ports, select the <i>MIDI Input port</i> and the
<i>Channel</i> to listen to (usually All). Whenever a MIDI event is received,
it will be displayed in the window.
<br><br>
To test sending notes to MIDI Ports, select the <i>MIDI Output port</i> and the <i>Channel</i> to send notes to.
Every half-second, a different note will be sent to each selected channel of each selected output port.
