SafeBoot Version 2.0 - README.TXT
Installation
-------------
You may install SafeBoot either from a separate directory,
or by copying the files to a floppy disk.
From within Windows Program Manager, Choose File, Run and
enter <drive>:[\<path>]\setup ex. a:\setup or c:\tempdir\setup
All necessary files will be installed EXCEPT VBRUN300.DLL.
This file can be obtained from AOL, CompuServe and many other
BBS's.
Shareware Trial Period
-----------------------
The shareware version of SafeBoot Version 2.0 is fully functional.
All of the features implimented in the registered version are
available in the shareware version. However, there is a 20 TRIAL
PERIOD. This allows you to check out all of the features and see
how it runs on your system. After 20 days you will be asked to
register SafeBoot each time it runs. If you want to register, just
fill in the form and send it in. If you want to stop running
SafeBoot, just delete the directory where SafeBoot was installed.
If you were running SafeBoot in Auto Mode, you will need to edit
WIN.INI in your windows directory to avoid a "Path not found" error
each time Windows Boots. To do this, open Notepad then open WIN.INI.
Look for the load= entry and remove
<drive>:\<install directory>\SB2AUTOM.EXE
To avoid editing WIN.INI, keep an eye on the title bar. It will report
the number of days the program has been in use. When approaching day 20,
you can turn off the Auto Mode setting and the load= entry will be
removed automatically for you.
