  3.                    Almanac for Windows
  4.                       Version 3.1

  6. Changes and enhancements to Almanac since version 3.0:
  7.  
  8.  ** Almanac 3.1 requires Windows 3.1 or higher.  All
  9.     compatibility code for Windows 3.0 has been
  10.     removed.  Although Almanac 3.1 offers much more
  11.     than 3.0, our ZIP package is now about 25%
  12.     smaller!  (We also offer a native 32-bit version
  13.     of Almanac for the Windows NT O/S that is fully
  14.     compatible with Almanac 3.1 data files).

  16.  ** Several sizes of day binder printouts have been
  17.     added as options when printing from the day
  18.     calendar view.  Choose from the following formats
  19.     printed on either Letter or A4 size paper:
  20.  
  21.       1)  Full-page portrait
  22.       2)  Half-page landscape, one day per page
  23.       3)  Half-page landscape, two days per page
  24.  
  25.     In North America, the landscape formats print very
  26.     nicely to pre-punched Laser Organizer Pages by
  27.     Avery (part number 41357).
  28.  
  29.  ** A Phonebook tool has been added that tracks
  30.     phone numbers and addresses, dials numbers using
  31.     a Hayes compatible modem, and copies pre-formatted
  32.     addresses to the clipboard.  Display by category,
  33.     search by name of individual OR organization.
  34.  
  35.  ** The format of the day view has been modified to
  36.     provide a new area which displays upcoming to do
  37.     items.
  38.  
  39.  ** Overlays may now be defined with default accent
  40.     settings.  The default settings are accessed
  41.     by selecting Options.Overlays..., and then
  42.     selecting an overlay to Edit.  Pushbuttons are
  43.     now available to set OR clear accents.  Any
  44.     entry in an overlay that does not have specific
  45.     accents defined will be displayed using the
  46.     default accent settings for the overlay.
  47.     Entries that have accents defined for them will
  48.     override all default settings.

  50.  ** Individual notes for the Schedule, To Do, and
  51.     Phonebook can now be printed.  If the Notes
  52.     window contains text for anything other than
  53.     General Notes, you may select File.Print when
  54.     Notes is the active window to print a copy
  55.     of the current text.

  57.  ** Several daily options have been added to the
  58.     Calendar Options dialog.  Daily Julian date will
  59.     display the Julian date of the year and the days
  60.     remaining in the yesr.  The Calendar Week option
  61.     shows the calendar week of the year.  Also, a
  62.     late addition to version 3.0h allows the Almanac
  63.     section to be toggled on or off.

  65.  ** Several users have requested that the sunrise and
  66.     sunset times be calculated more accurately.  The
  67.     new algorithms are extremely accurate (should be
  68.     accurate to less than a minute).  If you do not
  69.     have a math coprocessor you may notice a small
  70.     delay (less than a second) as the sunrise and
  71.     sunset times are painted.  You may elect to turn
  72.     off the daily almanac section from the Calendar
  73.     Options dialog if you want to avoid the
  74.     calculation.

  76.  ** Almanac can now be customized for a language
  77.     other than English to a large degree.  All menu
  78.     selections, the content of calendar displays,
  79.     and all printouts can be customized through the
  80.     use of a language template file.  Full info
  81.     is in the README.TXT file.

  83.  ** A new option has been added to the Options.ToDo
  84.     dialog that will hide completed to do items in
  85.     the To Do tool window when the ToDo.View Pending
  86.     mode is being used.  You must reopen the To Do
  87.     window for this option to take effect.
