  6.          Windows automatic installation

  9.          Your Stella package is installed simply by double clicking on
  10.          the file SETUP.EXE once you have unzipped the contents of
  11.          Stella.zip to a folder of your choosing.
  12.  
  13.          We recommend the excellent WinZip utility for unpacking
  14.          Stella's main .zip archive. You can get the latest version
  15.          of Winzip from

  19.          If you have not already done so, we would additionally
  20.          recommend that, prior to running SETUP.EXE, you use Explorer
  21.          to create a new folder called Astronomy inside the Windows 95
  22.          Start Menu folder. Just navigate to Windows\Start Menu and
  23.          click with the right mouse button on some unoccupied space in
  24.          Explorer's right-hand window. You'll see a popup menu, one of
  25.          whose options will be |New|. Select |Folder| from the submenu,
  26.          and name it 'Astronomy' or some other appropriate title. After
  27.          setup, you will be able to manually move the shortcut named
  28.          Stella 2000 into this new folder for a tidier and more compact
  29.          Start menu.

  31.          Tip: when in doubt about the Win95 Explorer's file-listing,
  32.          just press [F5] to refresh its display. Very often, an item you
  33.          thought wasn't there will magically appear!

  35.          NB: IF INSTALLING OVER A PRIOR VERSION OF STELLA (WHETHER
  36.          TRIAL OR REGISTERED), FIRST COPY ANY OBSERVATION LOG FILES
  37.          (.STL) TO A SAFE PLACE BEFORE PROCEDING WITH THE REMOVAL OF
  38.          THE OLD VERSION VIA THE CONTROL PANEL.

  40.          WHEN YOU HAVE REMOVED THE OLD INSTALLATION, YOU MAY THEN
  41.          CONFIDENTLY PROCEED WITH THE SETUP OF THE NEW VERSION OF
  42.          STELLA 2000, FINALLY COPYING BACK THE LOG FILES WHEN THIS HAS
  43.          COMPLETED TO YOUR SATISFACTION.

  45.          THE SETUP UTILITY LEAVES ALL PREVIOUSLY INSTALLED FILES OF THE
  46.          SAME NAME INTACT, SO WITHOUT FIRST REMOVING THE LAST
  47.          INSTALLATION, A NEW COPY OF THE PACKAGE CANNOT BE INSTALLED.

  49.          Stella may be uninstalled at any time simply by opening
  50.          Control Panel from the Settings entry in your Start Menu, and
  51.          double- clicking on the item Add/Remove Programs. You will be
  52.          shown a list of programs currently installed on your system,
  53.          from which you should select the item 'Stella 2000' for
  54.          automatic removal.

  56.          The complete Stella 2000 package contains a number of text
  57.          files, all designed to help you get started with the minimum
  58.          of fuss. Have a browse through any item with the .TXT or .RTF
  59.          extension if you've the time. Some of these will necessitate
  60.          the selection of |Word Wrap| in Notepad or whichever text
  61.          editor you elect to view them in.
