  5.    This archive contains ARJ version 2.70 FULL RELEASE from ARJ Software, 
  6.    Inc., http://www.arjsoftware.com.

  8.    ARJ is a file compression utility with more file management functions
  9.    than other popular file compression utilities.  The version management
  10.    and backup support features of ARJ strongly set it apart from other 
  11.    file compression utilities.  ARJ is command line driven which makes it
  12.    easier to use in automated processes such as providing backup for an
  13.    accounting package.

  16.    institutional environment requires a license.

  31.    This software as originally released by ARJ Software, Inc. came 
  32.    "sealed" in an ARJ self-extracting archive with an ARJ-SECURITY digital 
  33.    envelope to prevent tampering.  Re-archival of this software will 
  34.    destroy this security feature "seal".

  36.    In addition, this release is set up to demonstrate the new execute
  37.    after extraction option.  This self-extractor will execute the program 
  38.    ARJTEST.EXE after a successful extraction.  ARJTEST.EXE is a simple 
  39.    display-a-message program.  Because this self-extractor is ARJ-SECURED,
  40.    the user will not be prompted for permission to execute the ARJTEST.EXE 
  41.    program.

  43.    Please note that some versions of Norton Anti-virus will report a false
  44.    alarm when scanning this archive and/or its contents.

  46.    This version of ARJ uses a new registration scheme.  This obsoletes all
  47.    previous ARJ registration keys.  ARJ 1.x and 2.x registered users are
  48.    eligible for a free replacement registration key.  Please supply proof
  49.    of registration with a copy of your signed license document, or a copy
  50.    of your registration keys, or a printout or screen capture of your 
  51.    ARJ.EXE registration display which we will use to check our records.

  53.    This release of ARJ now saves the Windows file properties of date-time
  54.    created and date-time accessed.  This will cause archives to be 
  55.    slightly larger in size.  This feature can be disabled.

  62.    Windows 95/98 long filename support in ARJ and REARJ (not Win NT).  An
  63.    evaluation version of ARJ32 for Win95/98/NT (32 bit version) should

  66.    The ability to repair small amounts of archive damage (headers and file
  67.    data) of an ARJ-PROTECTED archive.

  69.    The ability to process and archive up to 65,000 files at one time.

  71.    The ability to store many different backups (chapters) within a SINGLE 
  72.    archive and restore any specific backup.  This is a powerful file 
  73.    version management feature.

  79.    making ARJ useful for making backups to multiple floppies or archiving
