- NAME=base (default) skin
- The default skin used by QCD, and shown in the illustrations in this Help. To restore the base skin, type Control-0 (zero).
- NAME=hot key
- A keyboard shortcut for executing a command.
- NAME=mark tracks
- To right-click on a track to tell QCD to skip the track on playback. You can also delete all marked or unmarked tracks.
- NAME=mixer
- An extended area of QCD holding controls Volume, Bass, Treble, and Balance.
- NAME=MP3
- A common format for compressed digital music files.
- NAME=plug-in
- A piece of software that adds functionality to QCD. Examples are visual effects plug-ins, sound effects, and library/cache plug-ins.
- NAME=Quick Track
- A menu-accessed way to jump to any track in the Playlist. To use it, right-click on the main track-name display.
- NAME=segment
- A section of music either longer or shorter than a track. Segments can span track boundaries.
- NAME=skin
- A file that changes the appearance and layout of the QCD player.
- NAME=skin family
- A grouped set of skins. The individual skins behave like 'modes' of appearance and layout.
- NAME=skin kid
- An individual skin that has not been grouped into a skin family.
- NAME=skin modes
- Skins that have been grouped into a skin family, letting QCD switch easily between different 'modes' of apperance.
- NAME=streaming audio
- Digital music data that plays as it downloads from the Internet instead of residing as a fixed file on your computer.
- NAME=visual effects gain
- A control that adjusts the reaction of a visual effects plug-in to the music.
