  1. This is the new Frequently Asked Questions with Answers list for
  2. comp.os.linux.help; please read it for more information about Linux
  3. and before posting any questions you may have.

  5. It is available in this directory in the following formats:
  6.   linux-faq.ascii     7-bit ASCII text
  7.   linux-faq.info      Emacs Info hypertext document
  8.   linux-faq.ps        PostScript, generated by the Lout text formatter
  9.  
  10. It is also available on the World Wide Web at:

  13. The PostScript conforms to the Adobe Document Structuring Conventions,
  14. and can therefore be run through programs like the psutils.  I
  15. recommend that you use psnup, from the psutils[*] package, to print it
  16. 2 pages to a printed page.

  19.   linux-faq.source.tar.gz    source files and scripts
  20.  
  21. This contains the Bizarre Format with No Name source for the FAQ, and
  22. the Perl scripts which convert this to ASCII, Emacs Info and input for
  23. Jeffrey Kingston's Lout typesetter, and the sh scripts which do the
  24. posting and archiving for me.  Please be careful not to post a copy of
  25. FAQ with these - don't disable the user/hostname safety check !
