  7. I. General
  8.  
  9. 1. The user of this software recognizes and accepts that this program
  10.    and all rights thereto are protected by copyright and other rights of
  11.    possession.
  12.    Dr. Hardware 2003 - both software and electronic or printed
  13.    documentation - is Copyright (c) Peter Gebhard, 14001 Berlin, 
  14.    Germany.
  15. 2. The following license agreement take effect at 12/01/2002.
  16. 3. By using this program, the user accepts these conditions of license
  17.    and use.
  18. 4. If the user doesn't accept these conditions of license the right of
  19.    use ends automatically.

  22. II. Usage
  23.  
  24. 1. The user gains through full payment of the software declared in the
  25.    original bill the right to usage of the program not exclusive to
  26.    himself.
  27.    The program, parts of the program or the documentation thereof may
  28.    not be copied, except for the purpose of a back up copy for
  29.    safekeeping. The purchaser may use a single purchased copy only for
  30.    his own purposes, and only on one computer at one time.

  32. 2. This program and all rights thereto are protected by copyright and
  33.    other rights of possession.

  35. 3. For the shareware version:
  36.    - The evaluation version of Dr. Hardware may not be sold or licensed.
  37.      Neither may a fee be charged for its use.  If a fee is charged in
  38.      connection with Dr. Hardware 2003, it should only cover the
  39.      cost of copying or distribution. Payment of such fees don┤t
  40.      constitute a legal ownership.
  41.    - The evaluation version of Dr. Hardware must be presented in its
  42.      complete form. It is not allowed to distribute the program and its
  43.      documentation files separately.
  44.    - If you continue using the evaluation version of the program
  45.      after a reasonable trial period of 10 days, you have to pay a
  46.      the registration fee to the author.

  48. III. Distribution

  50. 1. The permission for distribution of shareware versions will
  51.    principally not be given exclusively.
  52. 2. Neither the program nor its documentation may be altered in any way,
  53.    extended, changed for use on other systems, or translated into other
  54.    languages without express written permission from the author.
  55. 3. The shareware version may be distributed without written permission
  56.    by the author via disk media (Floppy Disk, CD ROM), Online Services
  57.    and BBS as far as it is not claimed "Free" or "Cheap". The distributor
  58.    is obliged to distribute the latest available program version.

  60. Distribution of the registered version:
  61.  
  62. 1. Principally the registered version of Dr. Hardware may be neither
  63.    passed freely nor sold to third persons.
  64. 2. Software vendors who are interested in distributing the registered
  65.    version of Dr. Hardware 2003 should contact the author Peter Geb-
  66.    hard for there exists a different version for redistribution.
  67. 3. To distribute the registered version of Dr. Hardware 2002 the
  68.    software vendor needs an official permission by the author.
  69. 4. The vendor who wants to distribute the registered version of
  70.    Dr. Hardware 2003 has to order the pieces he needs. Each
  71.    copy will be registered in a unique way so it┤s not allowed to
  72.    multiplicate one master disk.
  73. 5. Vendors should not fix a registration fee that is different from
  74.    the official fee.

  76. III. Warranty Disclaimer:

  78. 1. The author takes no responsibility for the suitability of the
  79.    program for any particular purpose. In particular, the author takes
  80.    no responsibility for damage or consequences directly or indirectly
  81.    which may arise from use of the program or its documentation.

  83. 2. It has to be emphasized that this software is operating at such a
  84.    low level that system crashes and other problems may occur suddenly
  85.    and unexpectedly.
  86.    The program user has to be aware of system troubles at any time and
  87.    is obliged to be prepared for it.
  88.    Besides others it is recommended that you...
  89.    - backup important data before running the program.
  90.    - deactivate the network.
  91.    - inspect permanently your system especially while generating
  92.      reports

  94. IV. Support
  95.  
  96. Registered users get support within six months via eMail, restricted to program
  97. related questions. Support, given at later time, is probably not free of charge.
  98. We expect that before asking for support the user has studied the online help
  99. as well as the online support given on www.dr-hardware.com

  101. V. Updates
  102.  
  103. 1.The registered user can register new updates with his key for the current
  104.   (Standard version) resp. the current and the next main version.
  105.   He has to load the corresponding shareware version by his own.
  106.   (e.g. from Gebhard Homepage).

  109. VI. Others
  110.  
  111. 1. The right of redelivery of the registerd version is excluded.
  112. 2. The program, the documentation and the prices are subject to change
  113.    at any time.
