  62. New with this version is the button pad that drops down from the right mouse
  63. click on the time panel now has a command-line with a directory browse button.
  64. This button pad will automatically popup a button tip with the path of the button
  65. the mouse cursor is above or a name that you choose when you initially setup the
  66. buttons. This popup button tip can be disabled under the menu item Configure...
  67. The name that you choose (if you do not want the file's path) should be changed
  68. in the Add Buttons window at the Button Title text box (or the default will be the
  69. button's path). You can now Register by Credit Card (see above). Have also added a
  70. new menu item to open the File Search program without opening The File Machine.

  72. You can now select and delete multiple files in The File Machine.
  73. This version has upgraded file utilities (copy, move, rename) that are
  74. easier to use and the text box above the middle buttons can now be used
  75. as a command line (type in the path and press ENTER key).  Also, a new
  76. Help file is easier to access in various areas by pressing the F1 key.

  78. I have added sounds to many commands. The sound files must be
  79. downloaded separately and are only useful if you have a sound card.
  80. The sound file name is RESDU2B.ZIP (or RESDUB in Compuserve). If you
  81. have downloaded the RESDUET2.ZIP file before (version 2.01) you should
  82. already have these files. These wav files should be placed in the same
  83. directory as resduet.exe. RESDU2A.ZIP has all of the main ResDuet+ files.

  87. To run RESDUET+ you will need the VBRUN300.DLL Visual Basic runtime
  88. file (found on most BBS's) in your Windows or Windows/System directory
  89. (as long as this is in your path statement). Then add a new program
  90. item to one of your groups (File*New*OK, etc.) using the icon with
  91. RESDUET+. I don't know if this will run in Windows 3.0 but it should.

  113.  These files need to be placed in your Windows directory (or Windows\System
  114.  if in your path) if you don't already have them. (Please make sure this is
  115.  the most recent version).

  118.     filmach.dat - will be created in the same directory as the main resduet.exe file.
  119.  Once you have added your programs to the middle buttons, the icons/pictures will
  120.  be saved to pic#.bmp files in the directory where resduet.exe is placed (# being a
  121.  number from 1 to 20) to coincide with the button selected. If you move these
  122.  picture files, you must make the necessary path changes in the filmach.dat file
  123.  which will be located in the same directory as the main resduet.exe file. Creating
  124.  these pic#.bmp files (rather than extracting the icon from the file each time it is
  125.  loaded) will speed up the loading of the files slightly and lower the memory usage.

  127.  RESDU2B.ZIP (RESDUB.ZIP)- this contains all the sound files and must be downloaded
  128.  separately (if you do NOT have ResDuet+ version 2.01). You must have a sound card for
  129.  this feature to work. If you choose to use sound, you will need to unzip the wav files
  130.  into the same directory as resduet.exe. You can enable sound with a male or female
  131.  voice (or disable sound) with the Configure\Sounds menu item.

  135. RESTART/RESOURCE PANEL:
  136. I won't get into very many instructions here because they are included
  137. in the program but the important ones are;
  138.  
  139. *  To re-position the restart/resource panel, click and drag the "resources" (right)
  140. panel with your left mouse button to move ResDuet+.
  141.  
  142. *  To read the restart/resource panel instructions, click on the
  143. "resources" panel with the right mouse button and select Instructions or click on
  144. the Help menu item.
  145.  
  146. *  To open The File Machine, click on the "time" panel (left) with the left
  147. mouse button. To open only the middle buttons from The File Machine, click
  148. on the time panel with your right mouse button.
  149.  
  150. *  To check your available memory space and available disk space, click
  151. on the "resource" panel with your left mouse button then click on the About menu item.

  155. THE FILE MACHINE:
  156. Most of this is self-explanatory and also includes instructions. The
  157. "buttons" in the center of The File Machine open whatever files/programs
  158. you add using the "Buttons" button on the bottom left. PLEASE NOTE, WHEN
  159. ADDING YOUR PROGRAMS/APPLICATIONS TO THE BUTTONS, YOUR VIDEO COLORS SHOULD
  160. BE NO HIGHER THAN 256. ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS, YOU MAY CHANGE TO A
  161. HIGHER COLOR (32K, 64K ETC.).

  164. The status bar at the bottom of The File Machine will show what the various
  165. buttons are that the mouse cursor is above. When it is above one of the
  166. middle buttons, it will show the path of the file that is added to that
  167. button.

  169. For instructions on the various buttons or areas, click your right mouse
  170. button over those areas or the left mouse button on the "?" button.
