  60. New this time: added automatic popup button tip showing button's file path or
  61. name that you choose when you initially setup the buttons. These button tips
  62. can be disabled at the popup menu. The name that you choose (if you do not want the
  63. file's path) should be changed in the Configure... window at the Button Tip text
  64. box (or the default will be the button's path). You can now Register by Credit Card
  65. (see above). Fixed intermittent exit bug.

  67. Also with this version is the capability to drag and drop files from the
  68. File Manager onto the CONFIGURATION... window which will fill in the
  69. necessary path boxes with the proper information. Also, the file's icon
  70. will automatically appear in the area below the ICON button. Also, changed
  71. menu item selections. The menu item "Edit Buttons" will open the plainbar.dat
  72. file in Notepad for editing. Any changes here will take effect after you exit
  73. and restart the program.

  75. You can now place the main button bar's top below the top of the screen.

  77. Also, the path information for the files, pictures/icons and working
  78. directories will be stored in the plainbar.dat file which will be created
  79. when you add applications to the buttons. Since the working directory
  80. information is not always necessary, it will not be added unless you add
  81. it in the CONFIGURATION... window.

  85. To run The Plain Ol' Button Bar you will need the VBRUN300.DLL Visual
  86. Basic runtime file (found on most BBS's) in your Windows or Windows/system
  87. directory (as long as this is in your path statement). Then add a new program
  88. item to one of your groups (File*New*OK, etc.) using the icon with
  89. PLAIN OL' BUTTON BAR. I don't know if this will run in Windows 3.0 but it should.

  91. The files included with the PLAIN OL' BUTTON BAR are:

  93.  1. plainbar.exe - to be placed in any directory (you may want this in
  94.  your start-up group also).
  95.  
  96.  2. plainbar.txt - this file
  97.     vendor.txt  - information for the distribution of this program

  101.     cmdialog.vbx

  110.  These files need to be placed in your Windows directory (or Windows\system
  111.  directory if it is in your path) if you don't already have them. (Please
  112.  make sure this is the most recent version).

  114.  4. plainbar.ini - will be created in the same directory as the plainbar.exe file.
  115.  when you change the button bar position and when you add your programs to the
  116.  buttons. Once you have added your programs to the buttons, the icons/pictures
  117.  will be saved to pic#.bmp files in the same directory as the plainbar.exe file
  118.  (# being a number relating to button location) to coincide with the button
  119.  selected. If you move these picture files, you must make the necessary path
  120.  changes in the plainbar.ini file for the pictures only.

  122.  5. plainbar.dat - once you have added your programs to the buttons, the
  123.  icons/pictures will be saved to pic#.bmp files in the same directory as the
  124.  plainbar.exe file (# being a number relating to button location) to coincide
  125.  with the button selected. The filename and icon information will now be saved
  126.  to the plainbar.dat (which will be created) file in the same directory as the
  127.  plainbar.exe file. If you move these picture files, you must make the necessary
  128.  path changes in the plainbar.dat file. For those of you who are using previous
  129.  versions of The Plain Ol' Button Bar, I apologize for these changes and the other
  130.  changes within the plainbar.dat file. I found them necessary to make this and
  131.  future versions of The Plain Ol' Button Bar a better program.

  133.  6. arw05lt.ico, arw05rt.ico, eye.ico, eye1.ico - should be placed in the same
  134.  directory as the program file, plainbar.exe. These are arrow icons for the
  135.  extended buttons and the eye pictures for the configuration window.

  138. BASIC INSTRUCTIONS
  139.  
  140.      When you first open Plain Ol' Button Bar, a 2-column vertical button window
  141. will appear on the one side of your screen. Depending on your video resolution,
  142. it should extend to the bottom of the screen (it fits vertically at 800 x 600).
  143. You can change the position, the size (maximum 2 columns by 15 buttons), whether
  144. it stays on top of other windows and of course the button's applications by
  145. clicking on the "?". A menu will pop-up with instructions and configuration
  146. procedures as well as a way to exit the program. PLEASE NOTE, WHEN ADDING YOUR
  147. PROGRAMS/APPLICATIONS TO THE BUTTONS, YOUR VIDEO COLORS SHOULD BE NO HIGHER THAN 256.
  148. ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS, YOU MAY CHANGE TO A HIGHER COLOR (32K, 64K ETC.).

  150.      The 3 buttons with the purple arrows will open extended button bars with an
  151. additional 9 buttons each for your applications. Each of these must be opened
  152. when you add your applications to them.
