Noted! - Utility Program for Windows
Copyright (c) 1994-1995 Steven Porter
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTED! VERSION 3.0
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shareware Version
Interim release 3.0
16th August 1995
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
INTRODUCTION
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Documentation to accompany Noted! can be found in the Windows help
file NOTED.HLP. To access this, select Contents from the Help menu in the
Noted! main window.
Noted! is a utility program for Windows, and further description about
its uses and applications can be found in the Windows help file.
Noted! was written by Steven Porter, and is entirely my own work. Noted!
was written using Turbo Pascal for Windows 1.5 from Borland. Noted! is an
ObjectWindows program. Portions of this software package are copyright
to Borland International.
The software provided within this package is provided on an "as is"
basis and the author (Steven Porter) makes no warranty whatsoever
regarding the product and specifically disclaims any implied
warranty or liability of any kind.
All trademarks are acknowledged.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
DISTRIBUTION
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The complete package contained within the compressed file and is
distributed as shareware. It is not free nor is it public domain. The
copyright of the package is retained with the author (Steven Porter). This
software can be evaluated for a limited period of 30 days. Afterwhich, if
you intend to continue using it, you must register with the author (see the
Windows help file for further information). You, the user, may freely
distribute the compressed file, but the individual files contained within
must not be distributed separately.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
INSTALLATION
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The compressed file contains the following files:
NOTED.EXE - Windows executable file
NOTED.TXT - This text file
NOTED.HLP - Windows help file
NOTED.INI - Initialisation file
FILE_ID.DIZ - Brief description for BBS
VENDOR.TXT - Vendor documentation
CTL3DV2.DLL - Microsoft 3D Control DLL
ICONS.DLL - File containing icons
TYPES.DAT - Noted! data file of note types
CONV.EXE - Converter utility
All of the files should be located in one directory.
The first time you execute NOTED.EXE, the program will move CTL3DV2.DLL to
the windows/system directory. This makes the installation process easy.
It is not necessary to copy the file yourself. If however, you have
problems then check that CTL3DV2.DLL is located in the windows/system
directory, and - not - in the Noted! directory.
Some users may already have a copy of CTL3DV2.DLL in their windows/system
directory, in which case, Notes will overwrite it automatically. This will
- not - cause any harm to your system because both files should be
identical.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
REGISTRATION
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I ask only a nominal fee for registration, so do the right thing and
register. Registration is now available using CompuServe, and by credit
card. Please read the help file for full details (select Help/Contents
from the Noted! menu.)
