  7. DESCRIPTION
  8.  
  9. Windows allows you to set the colors of various objects. However,
  10. the colors must be chosen from a fixed palette of 16 (or 20)
  11. colors which may not be changed.
  12.  
  13. Flying Colors 1.1 is a Windows add-on utility that lets you
  14. change those palette-colors to anything you like. Color
  15. Configurations may be saved as .FLY files which may be loaded
  16. at any time.  
  17.  
  18. Flying Colors comes with a lot of extras including a built-in
  19. brightness (dimmer) control, a contrast control and several
  20. complexion (tint) controls.
  21.  
  22. So give your tired eyes a rest, and liven up the Windows desktop
  23. by creating and using your own color schemes.

  27. INSTALLATION
  28.  
  29. Copy the files:
  30.  FLYINGC.EXE
  31.  FLYINGC.HLP
  32.  *.FLY
  33. to any directory where you like to keep your stuff.  The other files
  34. are optional and may be deleted.  However, you might like to save
  35. README.TXT (this file) and/or ORDER.TXT for future reference.
  36. Flying Colors may be started by running FLYINGC.EXE or by choosing
  37. FLYINGC.EXE from the File Manager.  Also, Flying Colors may be
  38. started by running any Flying Colors' .FLY file.  This will cause
  39. the program to run and load the specified Color Configuration file.

  41. Flying Colors may be added as an icon to a Program Manager group.
  42. In Program Manager, click the "File" menu option, then "New", then
  43. select "Program Item" and enter FLYINGC.EXE with its full path as the
  44. new item. It is recommended that you add Flying Colors to your 
  45. "StartUp" group.  This will cause Flying Colors to run every time that
  46. Windows starts up.

  50. LICENSE

  52. This program is shareware.  You may use the program and evaluate it
  53. for no more than 30 days.  After this time, you must either register
  54. Flying Colors or remove it from your system.  By using Flying Colors, you
  55. agree to these terms.  Failure to comply with this condition is a
  56. violation of U.S. and international copyright law.

  60. REGISTRATION
  61.  
  62. Flying Colors may be registered by mail. Flying Colors may also
  63. be registered online by Compuserve users by GOing SWREG
  64. (Registration ID 5505).  Upon receipt of your payment, you will
  65. be supplied with a "Validation Code".  This code is entered into
  66. the program along with the "Registration Name" of your choice.  The
  67. "Registration Name" and "Validation Code" are entered by selecting
  68. "Register" from the main menu.

  70. Benefits of registering Flying Colors:
  71. 1) Your "Registration Name" will appear in place of UNREGISTERED!!
  72.    on the main-panel.
  73. 2) The Flying Colors main configuration window can be made even
  74.    smaller.
  75. 3) Updates will ALWAYS be free to registered users.  Future versions
  76.    will be made readily available for download.  You should be able to
  77.    find them the same place you found your current copy of Flying Colors.
  78. 4) Suggestions by registered users will be incorporated into future
  79.    versions of Flying Colors.
  80. 5) Registering supports the try-before-you buy shareware system.

  83. 1) Selecting Help on the Main-panel's menu and selecting "Ordering"
  84. 2) Printing file ORDER.TXT
  85. If you do not have a printer, be sure to include all of the
  86. information requested in the order form with your check or money order.

  93. copies of the archive file as FLYCOL11.ZIP so long as:
