ACTION for Windows is a process automator. Once the computer is
turned on and Windows is loaded ACTION(TM) can be started from the
StartUp Group. From this moment ACTION(TM) takes charge over
predetermined tasks, triggering them whenever they are scheduled
to occur.
The use of ACTION(TM) is quite simple. When it is loaded, it appears
iconized, and ACTION(TM) is in business. Just double click the icon
to add, edit or view scheduled actions. You can schedule a series
of actions leaving long enough time between them to finish the prior
one before the next starts. ACTION(TM) can copy, rename and move files
and directories. It can start an application with command line
parameters. ACTION(TM) uses other utilities. It can play a pre-recorded
Microsoft Windows Recorder(R) macro. It can compress and decompress
PKZIP 2.04 compatible archives using Zip Server(TM). It can attach a
Network Server and map a Network drive. ACTION(TM) can restart or exit
Windows or reboot the computer.
You can install ACTION(TM) and experience it max. ten times free of
charge.
You need to register in order to use ACTION(TM) longer. As a registered
user you will receive your access code and the Reference Manual.
The installation package includes on-line Help.
Run SETUP.EXE in Windows located on the #1 Installation diskette or
in the directory where you exploded the downloaded compressed
installation package to install ACTION(TM) Process Automator. The
downloaded installation package is in self-executable format (Run
ACTION10.EXE to extract it.)
LATEST CHANGES
The following changes were made recently and they are not referenced in
Help and in the Reference Manual:
1. Bug was reported that ACTION does not schedule for the last week of
the month. This problem has been corrected.
2. When ACTION was active and it needed to start a software that used
the ACCESS database engine to manage external databases "Couldn't
find installable ISAM" error message appeared. ACTION did not
initialize the database engine and when was loaded first used the
database engine without initialization. Since the engine was already
in memory other software initialization was bypassed. Now ACTION is
initializing the database engine as ACCESS 2.0.
However, ACTION is shipped with ACCESS 1.1 database. ACTION is
compacting the database once a week and when the first maintenance
will take place the database will be converted to ACCESS 2.0
Since the VBDB300.DLL file will be installed in the ACTION directory
it should not cause conflicts with other applications using Access 1.1
Now ACTION will install MSAJT112.DLL and MSAJT200.DLL in the
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory and will create ACTION.INI calling BTRV200.DLL
for BTRIEVE, XBS200.DLL for DBF files, and PDX200.DLL for Paradox. These
files however are not supplied assuming that the other application
installed them. Please request files you need from Redei Enterprises
while registering.
