  7. Using the Microsoft Mail File Format API programs to "put" a message into
  8. a Microsoft Mail postoffice sent to a group alias may result in this error,
  9. recorded in the m:\log\system.log file:
  10.  
  11.    User mail received addressed to the following unknown addresses:
  12.    <address>
  13.  
  14. CAUSE
  15. =====
  16.  
  17. When mailing to a group, the group address must be used, not the alias
  18. name.
  19.  
  20. Both the Admin program and the mail clients display only the alias for
  21. postoffice groups, not the real addresses. Mail sent to the alias is not
  22. delivered.
  23.  
  24. RESOLUTION
  25. ==========
  26.  
  27. Find the group address using one of the three procedures below and use it
  28. when you send the mail.
  29.  
  30.  - Record the address when the group is created in the Admin program
  31.  
  32.    (LOCAL ADMIN-GROUP-CREATE).
  33.  
  34.  - Export the address list to another postoffice. The group address
  35.    appears on the other postoffice.
  36.  
  37.  - Make a copy of the \GLB\GROUP.GLB file, from the Microsoft Mail
  38.    Postoffice, and use the MS-DOS TYPE command to list the file. This file
  39.    is not formatted when it appears, but it shows the association of group
  40.    alias to group name.
