  13.  
  14.     Excel Progs is a small yet rapidly growing shareware development
  15.     organization whose members combined have decades of experience
  16.     in the computer industry.  While Excel Progs currently is
  17.     focusing on Windows applications, Excel Progs has also created
  18.     computer-independent .MID (Midi) songs and is always into new
  19.     ideas for computer products on all platforms.

  23.         o       Midi Machine V2.xx Support Packs
  24.  
  25.                 Support packs for Midi Machine, these contain files that
  26.                 will enhance the fun you get out of the multimedia program
  27.                 as well as give you ideas to enhance your creativity.

  29.                 Support Pack 1 deals with Midi Machine V2.xx technical
  30.                 documents 1-15 as of 9/30/95.  Texts include solving
  31.                 setup troubles, configuring sound on specific machines,
  32.                 undocumented tips, Win95-Midi Machine information, and more.

  42.     o       Midi Machine V2.01
  43.  
  44.         Midi Machine v2.01, a multimedia app. for Win3.1+, is a MID/
  45.         WAV/BMP/ICO/TXT//WMF, and audio CD player, as well as a multi-
  46.         media demo creator.  It supports album loading and saving,
  47.         header midis to offset problematic MIDI codes, shuffle
  48.         playback, and more.  A professional multimedia script language
  49.         is included which allows the creation of demonstrations util-
  50.         izing text, graphics, sound, music, tiled backdrops, and button
  51.         paging.  Midi Machine V2.01 is EASY to set-up, and features
  52.         mouse-sensitive one-line help and right-click detailed help.
  53.         Drag&drop files straight from the file manager or other drag-
  54.         and-drop supported applications.  Animated icons "dance" to
  55.         the multimedia.  A full help engine is also included, and
  56.         "tips" appear every time the program is loaded.  Several bug
  57.                 fixes and improvements over version 2.00 are included.

  59.     o    EPDistrib (Volume 1)

  61.         EPDistrib is a quarterly electronic magazine in Windows 3.1+
  62.         format for shareware users and system administrators alike.
  63.         EPDistrib is an entertaining and informative mixture of text,
  64.         graphics, and sound, combined in an easily-navigable elec-
  65.         tronic magazine.  The EPDistrib magazine contains several
  66.         regular    articles, including:  "Letters to the Editor," "EP
  67.         Sites," "Taglines!," and "Mythdancer's Shareware Reviews"--
  68.         informative reviews of many products in the shareware industry
  69.         (not just by Excel Progs!) including detailed software descrip-
  70.         tions, right down to the installation procedures.  The magazine
  71.         will carry other articles, all of which are accessible
  72.         by a table of contents button window.  EPDistrib requires the
  73.         Midi Machine 2.00 program to run (an application found on many
  74.         FTP and distribution sites), and includes a simple setup
  75.         program.  Once installed, a double-click of the magazine's
  76.         icon runs the program.

  79.  
  80.                 EXACFIND - AC/City Search/Copy/Retrieve.  Excel-ACFind is an
  81.                 extremely easy-to-use application that will allow you to search
  82.                 its large database for telephone area codes by state, or cities
  83.                 by area code.  State information is included.  Right-click help
  84.                 for maximum efficiency.  SETUP program to get you running right
  85.                 away. Free updates if you register and have an Internet e-mail
  86.                 address.  From Excel Progs.  Requires VBRUN300.DLL.

  117.         A "LITE" version of the popular "find-the-word" game for
  118.         Windows, this version is the same as Excel-FND except a few
  119.         of the sounds have been removed, making it quicker to
  120.         download.

  123.  
  124.         A trumpet player doing a wild dance... a sunrise over a series 
  125.         of mountains... no, this is NOT another .FLI animation, but 
  126.         what YOU can have over your boring old DOS prompt with 
  127.         CANIPROMPTS, a shell over your old DOS prompt giving it
  128.         new color, visibility, and life.  Be the talk of the town

  144.         Midi Machine V1.21 is a .MID/.WAV jukebox/file manager for Win 
  145.         3.1+ Midi Machine plays songs in many different ways:  random, 
  146.         shuffle, backwards, continuous, or combinations of the previous.  
  147.         Album Load/Save is supported, allowing you to listen to your 
  148.         favorite sounds all at once.  Auto-play after drag&drop sound 
  149.         selections from programs such as File Manager is supported.  
  150.         Icon animations "dance" to the sound of your favorite tunes - 
  151.         over a dozen are included with support for externals.  
  152.         Command-line options allow you to run your favorite albums 
  153.         and play modes at start-up.  There is mouse-sensitive help as 
  154.         well as an external text documentation file.

  156.         Midi Machine V1.21 is a state-of-the-art .MID/.WAV
  157.         player and file manager, combining many features
  158.         of other such players and adding unique features such
  159.         as icon animations "dancing" to the sound.

  164.         contains animations with a Christmas theme and our
  165.         "Notes and Staves."

  169.         30 animated icons for Midi Machine V1.x, this pack
  170.         contains a wide potpourri of icons, everything from
  171.         a coffee cup to moving fractals to fireworks.

  175.         30 animated icons for Midi Machine V1.x, this pack
  176.         contains another large selection of icons, everything
  177.         from a bouncing soccer ball to a lip sipping a beverage
  178.         to circles splatting on the screen.

  180.     o       MALEK1.MID (MIDI Song File)
  181.  
  182.         An alternative to the normal classical style.  Auxillary 
  183.         percussion (timpani, vibes, and bells) start the file in a 
  184.         very jarring motion, leading to a string and choir 
  185.         introduction and a temporary calming of the bass.  The bells 
  186.         return along with short bursts of the timpani. Vibes signal 
  187.         the introduction of a softer mode, and the piccolo takes a 
  188.         brief stint as soloist. Once again, auxillary percussion 
  189.         commences as the string dies down and the sound returns to its 
  190.         original state.  At last, the timpani beats a few dying notes 
  191.         and decays.
  192.  
  193.     o       MALEK2.MID (MIDI Song File)
  194.  
  195.         This movement begins with a slight auxillary percussion base, 
  196.         with the New Age/Flute and Vibes alternating melody.  The 
  197.         melody begins to get higher and higher; a peak is reached and 
  198.         the base lowers.  Soon a running part is established by the 
  199.         clarinet/flute duet as the piece reflects beginning melodies.  
  200.         This reflection leads to the first climax as the SoundTrack FX 
  201.         rumbles in the bottom underneath the string melody.  The Choir 
  202.         takes the lead as the sound mellows. After its turn at solo, 
  203.         the flute running part begins again; the song reaches its final
  204.         climax and toms are beaten in the background.  The New Age 
  205.         penetrates the lower voices reaching higher and higher, breaks 
  206.         free, and decrescendoes to the end.
  207.  
  208.     o    MALEK3.MID (MIDI Song File)
  209.  
  210.         This movement begins with a percussion start to the familiar
  211.         high-low rhythm found in earlier movements, with strings
  212.         formulating texture as choir pads and leads fall into the fray.
  213.         The sound of New Age powers in on its high tonalities, while
  214.         Aahs provide a lower counter-melody.  Soon multiple counter-
  215.         melodies vie each other for the attention and the percussion
  216.         drops out.  Bass takes over as the tempo decreases, but the 
  217.         high melody only relinquishes its power temporarily and return 
  218.         to the mixture.  A slow pattern travels amongst the various 
  219.         instruments and morphs into odd chords and a re-emergance of 
  220.         percussion.  Pulses of Soundtrack FX spike as Aahs begin their 
  221.         measures of running notes as a slow, dark, melody continues.  
  222.         Portions of the original melody return to haunt in the form of 
  223.         the Accordion.  All voices break away, the tempo speeds, and
  224.         the original melody takes over with loud orchestral hits.  The
  225.         melody experiments with an assortment of keys and the orchestra
  226.         relaxes.  Soon all that remains is the percussion and a low
  227.         5ths lead.  Strings bring in a syncopated rhythm which finds
  228.         its way to the Choir Aahs.  The old melody will never die, 
  229.         however; the accordion once again asserts its prescence in a 
  230.         faster version of the original high-low rhythm.  A break for 
  231.         orchestra hits - and the original bass counter-melody with the
  232.         Choir Aahs return, also faster.  The instruments slip away, but
  233.         bounce back with a vengance, with powerful orchestral hits 
  234.         making its rounds as the bass counter-melody.  When the sound 
  235.         gets almost too powerful, everything save a few lonely voices
  236.         fade..they share a brief chord, and fade themselves to the end.
  237.         
  238.     o       Excel-PWD V1.0
  239.     
  240.         Excel-PWD is a Windows application allowing you to create 
  241.         difficult passwords "on-the-fly" for usage on bulletin boards, 
  242.         Internet, or computer services.  You can create passwords of 
  243.         multiple types, depending on how long you wish the passwords 
  244.         can be and what characters the host system supports in the 
  245.         password.  Also included is an E-Text discussing why passwords 
  246.         are so extremely important in this day and age.
  247.  
  248.         o       STI V1.2 (Studley The Icon) 
  249.  
  250.         S.T.I. is described as "Your Personal Desktop Exercise
  251.         Motivator."  In plain English, Studley will try to motivate
  252.         you to exercise a little more.  While the iconized Studley
  253.         performs his healthy regiment of moves, why not join him!
  254.                 This program is now *POSTCARDWARE.*, and the current
  255.                 version 1.2 works great under Win95.
  256.  
  257. III.    How to Become a Distributor Site
  258.  
  259.     Excel Progs is looking for more bulletin boards and information 
  260.     services to serve as distributor sites.  This works well for both 
  261.     parties:  Excel Progs is able to send its software to a larger 
  262.     audience, and your service has more to advertise about.  Your users 
  263.     know that the latest in Excel Progs utilities, songs, and games 
  264.     (coming soon!) can be found first on your service.  
  265.  
  266.     Excel Progs is accepting applications on the basis of "first come, 
  267.     first serve."  There will be one distributor site per county.  A 
  268.     "county" is described in this text as a place which holds a telephone 
  269.     connection to your service for the public (i.e., if you have a service
  270.     in Knox County (Knoxville, TN) which has an Anderson County (Oak Ridge,
  271.     TN) connect line open only to members, your site will be considered to
  272.     be an Knox Co. site ONLY.  If the line becomes public and no site has 
  273.     already appeared in Anderson Co., you will be considered to be a 
  274.     site for both counties.
  275.  
  276.     Excel Progs shall have the sole task of determining whether two or more
  277.     services are considered "too close" to both become distribution sites.
  278.  
  279.     We are asking for services that have been up for at least a year, 
  280.     show promise of being up for much longer, and have potential for 
  281.     growth.  If your service goes down for a small period of time you 
  282.     will retain your site number when you return; in cases of serious
  283.     down-time the site number may be awarded to someone else.  Thus, it 
  284.     is imperative that if your service goes down for a time greater 
  285.     than a month or if it is to go down permanently that you immediately 
  286.     contact Andrew Malek of Excel Progs.
  287.  
  288.     We are looking for "family" services.  Note that this does not mean 
  289.     exclusively religious services, just those that don't cater 
  290.     exclusively to adult users.  This also does not exclude services that 
  291.     responsibly have adult sections hidden to the general public.
  292.  
  293.     We are looking for public domain/shareware/freeware/post-cardware/
  294.     ..etc services ONLY!  If you are a pirate site or hold ANY pirate 
  295.     files, then we appreciate you not applying.
  296.  
  297.     Excel Progs is new, and is currently an organization, not an 
  298.     official business.  As a new group, you have the opportunity to be 
  299.     one of the first to be a distributor site.  In the event Excel Progs 
  300.     formally is established as a business, your distributor site numbers 
  301.     shall be transfered in the proper ways, if necessary.
  302.  
  303.     As a distributor site, you need to keep up with the newest Excel
  304.     Progs products.  We ask that you call Idaho Interactive BBS at least
  305.     once every 3-6 months, and, if you wish, in the meantime, acquire
  306.     all Excel Progs products at your convenience from sources such as 
  307.     CompuServe (C) and Internet FTP sites, where they are uploaded
  308.     on a semi-regular basis (Feel free to call Idaho Interactive
  309.     as often as you wish...the 3-6 months is only a suggestion for
  310.     software acquisition).  If you run Major BBS with Majornet, we
  311.     ask that you take the official support forum (mentioned later in
  312.     this file).  We also ask all sites to mention that they are a support
  313.     board in opening screens, bulletins, advertisements,..etc, if
  314.     possible.
  315.         
  316.     Regarding Idaho Interactive BBS, you will receive an account 
  317.     and password regarding your formal confirmation (when you receive 
  318.     postal mail regarding the confirmation).  ALL Excel Progs files 
  319.     shall be on Idaho Interactive BBS in the file area EXCEPROG.  Just 
  320.     type L F S EXCELPROGS to access the files.  Type F S EXCEPROG to
  321.     access the forum area.  You may download individual files or download
  322.     the entire batch as the EPALLx.ZIP files (all such downloads are
  323.         free from time restrictions!)  If for some unknown reason Idaho
  324.         Interactive ceases to exist, Excel Progs will try all possible
  325.         routes of establishing a new home board or new methods of
  326.         distributing its files.
  327.  
  328.     To apply, simply print and fill out the form located near the end of 
  329.     this text and mail to the address specified.  Or, fill it out
  330.     electronically and send it via Internet electronic mail.  Upon
  331.     approval, you shall receive in the coming weeks your confirmation
  332.     letter, number, and other information Excel Progs feels appropriate.
