  14.     Excel Progs is a small yet rapidly growing shareware development
  15.     organization whose members combined have decades of experience
  16.     in the computer industry.  While Excel Progs currently is
  17.     focusing on Windows applications, Excel Progs has also created
  18.     computer-independent .MID (Midi) songs and is always into new
  19.     ideas for computer products on all platforms.

  31.     o       Midi Machine V2.01
  32.  
  33.         Midi Machine v2.01, a multimedia app. for Win3.1+, is a MID/
  34.         WAV/BMP/ICO/TXT//WMF, and audio CD player, as well as a multi-
  35.         media demo creator.  It supports album loading and saving,
  36.         header midis to offset problematic MIDI codes, shuffle
  37.         playback, and more.  A professional multimedia script language
  38.         is included which allows the creation of demonstrations util-
  39.         izing text, graphics, sound, music, tiled backdrops, and button
  40.         paging.  Midi Machine V2.01 is EASY to set-up, and features
  41.         mouse-sensitive one-line help and right-click detailed help.
  42.         Drag&drop files straight from the file manager or other drag-
  43.         and-drop supported applications.  Animated icons "dance" to
  44.         the multimedia.  A full help engine is also included, and
  45.         "tips" appear every time the program is loaded.  Several bug

  48.     o    EPDistrib (Volume 1)
  49.  
  50.         EPDistrib is a quarterly electronic magazine in Windows 3.1+
  51.         format for shareware users and system administrators alike.
  52.         EPDistrib is an entertaining and informative mixture of text,
  53.         graphics, and sound, combined in an easily-navigable elec-
  54.         tronic magazine.  The EPDistrib magazine contains several
  55.         regular    articles, including:  "Letters to the Editor," "EP
  56.         Sites," "Taglines!," and "Mythdancer's Shareware Reviews"--
  57.         informative reviews of many products in the shareware industry
  58.         (not just by Excel Progs!) including detailed software descrip-
  59.         tions, right down to the installation procedures.  The magazine
  60.         will carry other articles, all of which are accessible
  61.         by a table of contents button window.  EPDistrib requires the
  62.         Midi Machine 2.00 program to run (an application found on many
  63.         FTP and distribution sites), and includes a simple setup
  64.         program.  Once installed, a double-click of the magazine's
  65.         icon runs the program.

  68.  
  69.                 EXACFIND - AC/City Search/Copy/Retrieve.  Excel-ACFind is an
  70.                 extremely easy-to-use application that will allow you to search
  71.                 its large database for telephone area codes by state, or cities
  72.                 by area code.  State information is included.  Right-click help
  73.                 for maximum efficiency.  SETUP program to get you running right
  74.                 away. Free updates if you register and have an Internet e-mail

  101.         you entertained for hours.  Lots of surprises are included in
  102.         this package, including letters dropping from the puzzle.
  103.         This version contains several puzzles; other puzzle-packs are
  104.         available from Excel Progs in groups of 75.

  108.         A "LITE" version of the popular "find-the-word" game for
  109.         Windows, this version is the same as Excel-FND except a few
  110.         of the sounds have been removed, making it quicker to

  115.         A trumpet player doing a wild dance... a sunrise over a series 
  116.         of mountains... no, this is NOT another .FLI animation, but

  135.         Midi Machine V1.21 is a .MID/.WAV jukebox/file manager for Win 
  136.         3.1+ Midi Machine plays songs in many different ways:  random, 
  137.         shuffle, backwards, continuous, or combinations of the previous.  
  138.         Album Load/Save is supported, allowing you to listen to your 
  139.         favorite sounds all at once.  Auto-play after drag&drop sound 
  140.         selections from programs such as File Manager is supported.  
  141.         Icon animations "dance" to the sound of your favorite tunes - 
  142.         over a dozen are included with support for externals.  
  143.         Command-line options allow you to run your favorite albums 
  144.         and play modes at start-up.  There is mouse-sensitive help as 
  145.         well as an external text documentation file.

  147.         Midi Machine V1.21 is a state-of-the-art .MID/.WAV
  148.         player and file manager, combining many features
  149.         of other such players and adding unique features such
  150.         as icon animations "dancing" to the sound.

  162.         a coffee cup to moving fractals to fireworks.

  167.         contains another large selection of icons, everything
  168.         from a bouncing soccer ball to a lip sipping a beverage
  169.         to circles splatting on the screen.

  171.     o       MALEK1.MID (MIDI Song File)
  172.  
  173.         An alternative to the normal classical style.  Auxillary 
  174.         percussion (timpani, vibes, and bells) start the file in a 
  175.         very jarring motion, leading to a string and choir 
  176.         introduction and a temporary calming of the bass.  The bells 
  177.         return along with short bursts of the timpani. Vibes signal 
  178.         the introduction of a softer mode, and the piccolo takes a 
  179.         brief stint as soloist. Once again, auxillary percussion 
  180.         commences as the string dies down and the sound returns to its 
  181.         original state.  At last, the timpani beats a few dying notes 
  182.         and decays.
  183.  
  184.     o       MALEK2.MID (MIDI Song File)
  185.  
  186.         This movement begins with a slight auxillary percussion base, 
  187.         with the New Age/Flute and Vibes alternating melody.  The 
  188.         melody begins to get higher and higher; a peak is reached and 
  189.         the base lowers.  Soon a running part is established by the 
  190.         clarinet/flute duet as the piece reflects beginning melodies.  
  191.         This reflection leads to the first climax as the SoundTrack FX 
  192.         rumbles in the bottom underneath the string melody.  The Choir 
  193.         takes the lead as the sound mellows. After its turn at solo, 
  194.         the flute running part begins again; the song reaches its final
  195.         climax and toms are beaten in the background.  The New Age 
  196.         penetrates the lower voices reaching higher and higher, breaks 
  197.         free, and decrescendoes to the end.
  198.  
  199.     o    MALEK3.MID (MIDI Song File)
  200.  
  201.         This movement begins with a percussion start to the familiar
  202.         high-low rhythm found in earlier movements, with strings
  203.         formulating texture as choir pads and leads fall into the fray.
  204.         The sound of New Age powers in on its high tonalities, while
  205.         Aahs provide a lower counter-melody.  Soon multiple counter-
  206.         melodies vie each other for the attention and the percussion
  207.         drops out.  Bass takes over as the tempo decreases, but the 
  208.         high melody only relinquishes its power temporarily and return 
  209.         to the mixture.  A slow pattern travels amongst the various 
  210.         instruments and morphs into odd chords and a re-emergance of 
  211.         percussion.  Pulses of Soundtrack FX spike as Aahs begin their 
  212.         measures of running notes as a slow, dark, melody continues.  
  213.         Portions of the original melody return to haunt in the form of 
  214.         the Accordion.  All voices break away, the tempo speeds, and
  215.         the original melody takes over with loud orchestral hits.  The
  216.         melody experiments with an assortment of keys and the orchestra
  217.         relaxes.  Soon all that remains is the percussion and a low
  218.         5ths lead.  Strings bring in a syncopated rhythm which finds
  219.         its way to the Choir Aahs.  The old melody will never die, 
  220.         however; the accordion once again asserts its prescence in a 
  221.         faster version of the original high-low rhythm.  A break for 
  222.         orchestra hits - and the original bass counter-melody with the
  223.         Choir Aahs return, also faster.  The instruments slip away, but
  224.         bounce back with a vengance, with powerful orchestral hits 
  225.         making its rounds as the bass counter-melody.  When the sound 
  226.         gets almost too powerful, everything save a few lonely voices
  227.         fade..they share a brief chord, and fade themselves to the end.
  228.         
  229.     o       Excel-PWD V1.0
  230.     
  231.         Excel-PWD is a Windows application allowing you to create 
  232.         difficult passwords "on-the-fly" for usage on bulletin boards, 
  233.         Internet, or computer services.  You can create passwords of 
  234.         multiple types, depending on how long you wish the passwords 
  235.         can be and what characters the host system supports in the 
  236.         password.  Also included is an E-Text discussing why passwords 
  237.         are so extremely important in this day and age.
  238.  
  239.     o       STI V1.1 (Studley The Icon) 
  240.  
  241.         S.T.I. is described as "Your Personal Desktop Exercise
  242.         Motivator."  In plain English, Studley will try to motivate
  243.         you to exercise a little more.  While the iconized Studley
  244.         performs his healthy regiment of moves, why not join him!
  245.         This program is now *POSTCARDWARE.*
  246.  
  247. III.    How to Become a Distributor Site
  248.  
  249.     Excel Progs is looking for more bulletin boards and information 
  250.     services to serve as distributor sites.  This works well for both 
  251.     parties:  Excel Progs is able to send its software to a larger 
  252.     audience, and your service has more to advertise about.  Your users 
  253.     know that the latest in Excel Progs utilities, songs, and games 
  254.     (coming soon!) can be found first on your service.  
  255.  
  256.     Excel Progs is accepting applications on the basis of "first come, 
  257.     first serve."  There will be one distributor site per county.  A 
  258.     "county" is described in this text as a place which holds a telephone 
  259.     connection to your service for the public (i.e., if you have a service
  260.     in Knox County (Knoxville, TN) which has an Anderson County (Oak Ridge,
  261.     TN) connect line open only to members, your site will be considered to
  262.     be an Knox Co. site ONLY.  If the line becomes public and no site has 
  263.     already appeared in Anderson Co., you will be considered to be a 
  264.     site for both counties.
  265.  
  266.     Excel Progs shall have the sole task of determining whether two or more
  267.     services are considered "too close" to both become distribution sites.
  268.  
  269.     We are asking for services that have been up for at least a year, 
  270.     show promise of being up for much longer, and have potential for 
  271.     growth.  If your service goes down for a small period of time you 
  272.     will retain your site number when you return; in cases of serious
  273.     down-time the site number may be awarded to someone else.  Thus, it 
  274.     is imperative that if your service goes down for a time greater 
  275.     than a month or if it is to go down permanently that you immediately 
  276.     contact Andrew Malek of Excel Progs.
  277.  
  278.     We are looking for "family" services.  Note that this does not mean 
  279.     exclusively religious services, just those that don't cater 
  280.     exclusively to adult users.  This also does not exclude services that 
  281.     responsibly have adult sections hidden to the general public.
  282.  
  283.     We are looking for public domain/shareware/freeware/post-cardware/
  284.     ..etc services ONLY!  If you are a pirate site or hold ANY pirate 
  285.     files, then we appreciate you not applying.
  286.  
  287.     Excel Progs is new, and is currently an organization, not an 
  288.     official business.  As a new group, you have the opportunity to be 
  289.     one of the first to be a distributor site.  In the event Excel Progs 
  290.     formally is established as a business, your distributor site numbers 
  291.     shall be transfered in the proper ways, if necessary.
  292.  
  293.     As a distributor site, you need to keep up with the newest Excel
  294.     Progs products.  We ask that you call Idaho Interactive BBS at least
  295.     once every 3-6 months, and, if you wish, in the meantime, acquire
  296.     all Excel Progs products at your convenience from sources such as 
  297.     CompuServe (C) and Internet FTP sites, where they are uploaded
  298.     on a semi-regular basis (Feel free to call Idaho Interactive
  299.     as often as you wish...the 3-6 months is only a suggestion for
  300.     software acquisition).  If you run Major BBS with Majornet, we
  301.     ask that you take the official support forum (mentioned later in
  302.     this file).  We also ask all sites to mention that they are a support
  303.     board in opening screens, bulletins, advertisements,..etc, if
  304.     possible.
  305.         
  306.     Regarding Idaho Interactive BBS, you will receive an account 
  307.     and password regarding your formal confirmation (when you receive 
  308.     postal mail regarding the confirmation).  ALL Excel Progs files 
  309.     shall be on Idaho Interactive BBS in the file area EXCEPROG.  Just 
  310.     type L F S EXCELPROGS to access the files.  Type F S EXCEPROG to
  311.     access the forum area.  You may download individual files or download
  312.     the entire batch as the EPALLx.ZIP files (all such downloads are
  313.         free from time restrictions!)  If for some unknown reason Idaho
  314.         Interactive ceases to exist, Excel Progs will try all possible
  315.         routes of establishing a new home board or new methods of
  316.         distributing its files.
  317.  
  318.     To apply, simply print and fill out the form located near the end of 
  319.     this text and mail to the address specified.  Or, fill it out
  320.     electronically and send it via Internet electronic mail.  Upon
  321.     approval, you shall receive in the coming weeks your confirmation
  322.     letter, number, and other information Excel Progs feels appropriate.
