  13.  OFFICE MAID is a screen saver that allows its owners to
  14.  
  15.  -- leave text messages on a moving screen; 
  16.  -- leave user-defined voice messages(WAV files) through 
  17.     either sound cards or PC-Speakers(users 
  18.     can set the peloid of voice playing); 
  19.  -- leave user-defined pictures(BMP files) on a moving screen
  20.     (users can switch pictures at a user defined period);
  21.  -- play user-defined movies(AVI file) on a moving screen 
  22.     continually; 
  23.  -- play user-defined music(WAV file) continually while 
  24.     OFFICE MAID is enabled or EVEN after OFFICE MAID is 
  25.     disabled -- while you are working!
  26.  -- record notes from their visitors;
  27.  -- protect their screen using password and so on.

  49. How to setup OFFICE MAID:
  50. =======================
  51.  1). Run CONTROL PANEL from your Program Manager in Windows;
  52.  2). Bring up Desktop from CONTROL PANEL;
  53.  3). Select Office Maid from NAME field of Screen Saver group in
  54.      Desktop window;
  55.  4). Click at Setup button in Screen Saver group;
  56.  5). Follow the instructions in section "How to use OFFICE MAID"
  57.      below to setup your favorite setting;
  58.  6). Exit Office Maid Setup screen;
  59.  7). Click at Test button in Screen Saver group to test what you
  60.      set;
  61.  8). Enjoy it!

  64.  How to use OFFICE MAID:

  67.  1).Base modes:
  68.  
  69.  There are three modes available: 
  70.    Regular - OFFICE MAID will be interrupted by moving or
  71.              clicking mouse, or pressing any key.
  72.    Note    - OFFICE MAID will pop up a dialog box either allowing
  73.              visitors to key in their notes or allowing owners
  74.              to exit OFFICE MAID.
  75.    Driver  - Office Maid will launch the selected program when 
  76.              Office Maid is enabled and shut the selected program
  77.              down when Office Maid is disabled.

  80.  2). How to leave a message on your screen:
  81.  
  82.  To leave a message on your screen, you need to bring up setup
  83.  screen of OFFICE MAID from Desktop|Control panel of Windows. In
  84.  the setup screen you can key in your message that will be
  85.  displayed on the moving message box when OFFICE MAID is
  86.  launched. You can also select a built-in voice message from the 
  87.  setup screen. There are some other features that provide a grade
  88.  flexibility.

  91.  3). How to allow your visitors to leave a note to you:
  92.  
  93.  A visitor or coworkers can leave a note for you by interrupting
  94.  OFFICE MAID (moving or clicking mouse, or pressing any key). If
  95.  OFFICE MAID is set in the NOTE mode, it will pop up a dialog box
  96.  to allow your visitor to key in their note to you (up to
  97.  10 notes).  The owner can setup a password to protect his/her
  98.  notes from being read by others.

  101.  4). How to define your own voice message:
  102.  
  103.  You can import your own voice (in WAV files) from the second
  104.  setup screen [1] and even preview (hear) the voice before you
  105.  import it.

  107.  5). How to Demonstrate pictures on your screen:
  108.  You can display a series of pictures(up to 10 BMP files) by 
  109.  enabling SWITCH PICTURE in the first setup screen (the main
  110.  screen) to switch them at a user-defined period.

  112.  6). How to play a piece of movie on you screen:
  113.  You can import a AVI file from the second setup screen 
  114.  and check MOVIE option in the first setup screen.
  115.  OFFICE MAID will then play the movie continually when it
  116.  is enabled.

  118.  7). How to have you OFFICE MAID serve you with you favorite
  119.      music:
  120.  After you import your own music file (WAV file), you can either
  121.  have it to be played when OFFICE MAID is enabled, or EVEN have
  122.  the music continue after it is disabled -- while you are
  123.  working! -- just select MUSIC CONTINUE AFTER MAID IS DISABLED.

  125.  8). How to Illustrate all the BMP, WAV, and AVI files in the
  126.  drives connected to you computer (including Hard disk drives, 
  127.  CD drives, network drives, and so on):
  128.  To illustrate a particular type of files, say BMP files, you 
  129.  need to select the last item in the Picture list of your main
  130.  setup screen.  you can also display which file is being 
  131.  displayed by enabling SHOW NAME OF ILLUSTRATED FILE.

  133.  9). How to turn a regular continually-played program into a
  134.      screen saver:
  135.  If you have a program that can be run continually and you like
  136.  to use it as a screen saver, all you need to do is select DRIVER
  137.  mode and select the file you want to use as a screen saver from
  138.  the main setup screen.  Office Maid will launch it when Office
  139.  Maid is enabled and terminate it when Office Maid is disabled.

  141. 10).  How to use Flying Whatever:
  142.  
  143.    Flying Whatever is an animation option that displays a variety
  144.  of user-imported BMP as flying objects.  You need to select mode
  145.  Animation to enable this feature.  you can import your own BMP
  146.  file as flying object by clicking at Define Animation.

  148.  Environment requirement:
  149.  =======================

  151.    You need a sound card to play music while a PC speaker (with
  152.  PC-Speaker driver) only allows you play you voice message.
  153.  Movies will be showed without audio when a sound card is
  154.  not installed. To play a movie you do need a video driver.
  155.  To run OFFICE MAID, you need VBRUN300.DLL, ddeml.dll, and 
  156.  mmsystem.dll.

  161. TroubleShooting:
  162.  
  163.     Q:  I have downloaded your screen saver recently 
  164.         and I was having a problem with getting it to work properly.  
  165.         After initialising I get a message "... caused a general 
  166.         protection fault in module VGA.DRV at 0001:0ca2".

  168.     A:  Changed your screen drivber in winsetup to SVGA.
