- OFFICE MAID is a screen saver that allows its owners to

- -- leave text messages on a moving screen;
- -- leave user-defined voice messages(WAV files) through
- either sound cards or PC-Speakers(users
- can set the peloid of voice playing);
- -- leave user-defined pictures(BMP files) on a moving screen
- (users can switch pictures at a user defined period);

- How to setup OFFICE MAID:
- =======================
- 1). Run CONTROL PANEL from your Program Manager in Windows;
- 2). Bring up Desktop from CONTROL PANEL;
- 3). Select Office Maid from NAME field of Screen Saver group in
- Desktop window;
- 4). Click at Setup button in Screen Saver group;
- 5). Follow the instructions in section "How to use OFFICE MAID"
- below to setup your favorite setting;
- 6). Exit Office Maid Setup screen;
- 7). Click at Test button in Screen Saver group to test what you
- set;
- 8). Enjoy it!

- How to use OFFICE MAID:

- 1).Base modes:
-
- There are three modes available:
- Regular - OFFICE MAID will be interrupted by moving or
- clicking mouse, or pressing any key.
- Note - OFFICE MAID will pop up a dialog box either allowing
- visitors to key in their notes or allowing owners
- to exit OFFICE MAID.
- Driver - Office Maid will launch the selected program when
- Office Maid is enabled and shut the selected program
- down when Office Maid is disabled.

- 2). How to leave a message on your screen:
-
- To leave a message on your screen, you need to bring up setup
- screen of OFFICE MAID from Desktop|Control panel of Windows. In
- the setup screen you can key in your message that will be
- displayed on the moving message box when OFFICE MAID is
- launched. You can also select a built-in voice message from the
- setup screen. There are some other features that provide a grade
- flexibility.

- 3). How to allow your visitors to leave a note to you:
-
- A visitor or coworkers can leave a note for you by interrupting
- OFFICE MAID (moving or clicking mouse, or pressing any key). If
- OFFICE MAID is set in the NOTE mode, it will pop up a dialog box
- to allow your visitor to key in their note to you (up to
- 10 notes). The owner can setup a password to protect his/her
- notes from being read by others.

- 4). How to define your own voice message:
-
- You can import your own voice (in WAV files) from the second
- setup screen [1] and even preview (hear) the voice before you
- import it.

- 5). How to Demonstrate pictures on your screen:
- You can display a series of pictures(up to 10 BMP files) by
- enabling SWITCH PICTURE in the first setup screen (the main
- screen) to switch them at a user-defined period.

- 6). How to play a piece of movie on you screen:
- You can import a AVI file from the second setup screen
- and check MOVIE option in the first setup screen.
- OFFICE MAID will then play the movie continually when it
- is enabled.

- 7). How to have you OFFICE MAID serve you with you favorite
- music:
- After you import your own music file (WAV file), you can either
- have it to be played when OFFICE MAID is enabled, or EVEN have
- the music continue after it is disabled -- while you are
- working! -- just select MUSIC CONTINUE AFTER MAID IS DISABLED.

- 8). How to Illustrate all the BMP, WAV, and AVI files in the
- drives connected to you computer (including Hard disk drives,
- CD drives, network drives, and so on):
- To illustrate a particular type of files, say BMP files, you
- need to select the last item in the Picture list of your main
- setup screen. you can also display which file is being
- displayed by enabling SHOW NAME OF ILLUSTRATED FILE.

- 9). How to turn a regular continually-played program into a
- screen saver:
- If you have a program that can be run continually and you like
- to use it as a screen saver, all you need to do is select DRIVER
- mode and select the file you want to use as a screen saver from
- the main setup screen. Office Maid will launch it when Office
- Maid is enabled and terminate it when Office Maid is disabled.

- 10). How to use Flying Whatever:
-
- Flying Whatever is an animation option that displays a variety
- of user-imported BMP as flying objects. You need to select mode
- Animation to enable this feature. you can import your own BMP
- file as flying object by clicking at Define Animation.

- Environment requirement:
- =======================
-
- You need a sound card to play music while a PC speaker (with
- PC-Speaker driver) only allows you play you voice message.
- Movies will be showed without audio when a sound card is
- not installed. To play a movie you do need a video driver.
- To run OFFICE MAID, you need VBRUN300.DLL, ddeml.dll, and
- mmsystem.dll.

- TroubleShooting:

- Q: I have downloaded your screen saver recently
- and I was having a problem with getting it to work properly.
- After initialising I get a message "... caused a general
- protection fault in module VGA.DRV at 0001:0ca2".

- A: Changed your screen drivber in winsetup to SVGA.
