IRT (Interactive RayTrace) is a full capability code for the analysis
and development of optical intrumentation based on geometric
raytracing. It covers all the basic optical elements such as lenses,
mirrors, and gratings, and includes some hard-to-find features such as
holographic gratings. It supports analysis of simple systems very
quickly, and supports complex systems in a very convenient fashion.
IRT was originally written for VAX computers in VMS, and then UNIX
operating systems. With the increased power of 386 and greater
machines it became possible to perform serious optical design on the
PC. The Windows environment is particularly well suited to the
task of optical design, so IRT has now been ported to this powerful
Multiple Document Interface for Windows 3.1 and higher.
This shareware version is complete, including extensive windows help
files.
