  1. This is the README file included with Minaret for Windows.
  2.  
  3. The package contains the following files, which should be kept
  4. in a single directory.
  5.  
  6. README  -  This file
  7. MINARET.EXE  -  The Minaret program
  8. MINARET.INI  -  Initialization file
  9. GAZETTE.DTA  -  The gazetteer file for Minaret.  .
  10. MINARET.DOC  -  Instructions on using the program
  11. CMDIALOG.VBX  -  File needed by Minaret
  12.  
  13. To run Minaret, you also need to have a file called
  14. VBRUN300.DLL in your Windows Systems directory, typically
  15. called C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM.  This file can be found on many
  16. bulletin boards that carry Windows software.  If you can't get
  17. it any other way, then request it in an e-mail to
  18. abdali@netcom.com.  You may like to move CMDIALOG.VBX to the
  19. Windows System directory also.

  21. Minaret can be run by double-clicking on MINARET.EXE in the
  22. Windows File Manager.  There is no Online Help in the present
  23. version.  But you can browse the documentation by choosing Open
  24. from the File menu and selecting MINARET.DOC.

  26. The gazetteer file contains geographical data for a number of
  27. cities.  It gets updated by the program if you add or delete
  28. cities, or modify the data stored about them.

  30. Please remember that Minaret is a shareware program.  This means
  31. that you are free to try it out and distribute its unmodified,
  32. complete copy to others.  But if you decide to keep it, then you
  33. should send the shareware fee of $10 to the author.

  35. A Macintosh version of Minaret is also available.
