FAMILY MEDICAL EVENTS (Formerly Family Medical Journal)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank You:
Thank you for trying the Family Medical Events. Family Medical Events
lets you take charge of your own medical records. And not only for your-
self but for every member of your family. It is obvious that healthcare
professionals require accurate information to provide the best possible
health care. But with different family members using different doctors,
the increasingly high mobility rate of families (and your doctor),
job changes, and the like, no one really has your "records", do they?
Family Medical Events puts you in charge of your family's medical
history. Now you can know exactly when Jimmy had his last tetanous shot
or when and where you had your last x-ray. This will not only save you
countless hours (think about filing for life insurance and having to
dredge up all these facts) but could well effect the type and extent of
medical treatment you receive.
Getting started:
If you are reading this, it means you downloaded this program from
CompuServe, America Online or some other BBS. It also means you have
already used PKUNZIP to unzip the file you downloaded. Hopefully you
have unzipped this file into a separate directory where nothing else
exists. It's less confusing that way. We suggest you create the
directory C:\FMED2 and copy all the files you unzipped into that
directory.
To run the program, enter Windows, go to the File Manager, and double-
click on FMED2.EXE. That's really all there is to it to try the program
out. If you have problems with the program executing, try moving the
files that end with DLL and VBX extentions into C:\windows\system. If
you do this, make sure you do not copy over a newer version of the
file.
All files you need are included except the file VBRUN300.DLL. You
probably already have this file in your windows\system directory.
If not you can probably download from your BBS. VBRUN300.DLL is included
with the registered version. Additional data files will be created in
the FMED2 directory as you use the program. The program as downloaded
contains some sample data so you can see how it works. You can delete
and play with this data and add your own. The registered version does
not contain this sample data and will not overwrite info you put in
while you are testing the program.
Registration
Registration information is included in the program itself. Basically,
you can register this product simply by sending $12.95 to
McCook Software, 40 Emily Drive, Lilburn, Ga. 30247. For shipments
outside the U.S., please add $2.00 for the additional postage expense.
Shareware
This product is shareware. It is not free. It is provided to you for
a limited time to see if you like it. If you reach the end of your
trial period and decide not to purchase this product, you should
remove it from your disk. If you find the product useful, I encourge
you to register right away. You will receive the latest expanded
version on 3.5 inch diskettes (professional installation program),
free technical support via CompuServe, America Online or U.S. mail,
and you will receive a registration # which you can use on downloading
future versions of this program from your BBS. This, in effect, means
all future versions are available to you without having to send the
author another dime.
