  6. Installing ANW.
  7.  
  8. The SETUP program requires VBRUN300.DLL (preferably in the SYSTEM 
  9. subdirectory of your Windows directory).  You can obtain this DLL 
  10. from SimTel if you don't have it already.
  11.  
  12. Running SETUP will create an ANW directory containing ANW.EXE, 
  13. your appointments file NOTES.APT, the help file ANW.HLP, and 
  14. various supplementary files.  A program group will be created, and 
  15. a small configuration file ANW.INI will be placed in your Windows 
  16. directory.  You can subsequently make many changes in ANW's 
  17. behavior by modifying ANW.INI as described in the help file.
  18.  
  19. If you want to uninstall ANW later, just delete your ANW 
  20. directory, the ANW.INI file in your Windows directory, and the ANW 
  21. program group.
  22.  
  23. You are licensed to try out the Ample Notice period for a trial 
  24. period of 60 days.  After that, you must register if you want to 
  25. continue to use the software.  The file REGISTER.TXT contains a 
  26. registration form.  If you haven't registered, we'll remind you 
  27. once every two months that this is shareware. 
  28.  
  29. Note: Nothing evil will happen after the 60-day trial period -- 
  30. ANW will continue to function as it did before.  You're just using 
  31. the software without our approval.  Granny's is opposed to 
  32. "cripple-ware" which self-destructs after a trial period.  But we 
  33. do hope you'll register.

  35. Granny's Old-Fashioned Software is a member organization of the 
  36. Association of Shareware Professionals and endorses its high 
  37. standards for Shareware distribution and support.  If you obtained 
  38. Ample Notice from a disk catalog or bulletin board, Granny's does 
  39. not receive a cent from the amount you paid.  We rely on your 
  40. registrations to keep going.

  43. The easiest way to keep up-to-date with ANW revisions is to obtain 
  44. the latest version by FTP from ftp.acs.appstate.edu in directory 
  45. pub/pc/win3/pim.  The name will be something like anw100.zip 
  46. (where 100 is the current version number).  To use new releases, 
  47. download, unzip and run SETUP.  Your old appointments file will be 
  48. retained.  The downloaded version will display "Unregistered" on 
  49. the title bar, but if you're registered, send us email at 
  50. mh@cs.appstate.edu we'll send you a code to put in your ANW.INI 
  51. file to suppress this behavior.  Also, email us if you'd like to 
  52. be alerted when ANW is revised.

  55. Fonts in ANW
  56.  
  57. ANW uses three TrueType fonts by default: Arial, Arial Bold, and 
  58. Lucida Bright.  If your system doesn't have these fonts and the 
  59. default fonts are objectionable, please add a [FONTS] section to 
  60. the ANW.INI in your Windows directory with lines such as the 
  61. following:

  72. You can obtain the current Ample Notice for Windows disk from 
  73. Granny's Old-Fashioned Software for $5 or a registered package for

  81. Shareware does not mean 'public domain'.  Distribution is 
  82. permitted only if the package stays intact; all files should be 
  83. passed on in unmodified form.  Commercial distributors may sell 
  84. copies of the package subject to the conditions described in the 
  85. VENDOR.TXT file.  Restrictions to use by an individual are 
  86. described in LICENSE.TXT.  One of these restrictions is that 
  87. unregistered use of Ample Notice past a trial period of 60 days is 
  88. prohibited.
