  4. ~~Turn the scanner and the Transparency Adapter off.
  5. ~~Turn the scanner on, then turn the Transparency Adapter on. Wait 30 seconds before retrying the test.
  6. ~~Make sure there is nothing on the scanner glass, and that the Transparency Adapter is in the down position.
  7. ~~If this test continues to fail, contact your dealer or refer to your user's guide for Hewlett-Packard warranty and service information.
