  38. If you are upgrading your existing driver to v3.1
  39. -------------------------------------------------
  40. If your AutoCAD configuration is already setup to use an older version of this 
  41. driver (v3.0 or earlier) note that you will need to repeat the process of
  42. plotter configuration in AutoCAD so that it can use the driver version 3.1.  
  43. Furthermore the installation process will remove your older version of the 
  44. driver when it installs this new version.

  47. Clip checking
  48. -------------
  49. If a paper size which is larger than 65 inches (165cm) is selected in the 
  50. "Plot Configuration" window no clipping checking will be done by the driver.

  53. Clip Checking (MS-DOS version of the driver)

  55. Clip checking, using the real size of the loaded media, will only be performed
  56. where the configured device does not have roll-feed capability.

  59. Using discrete sizes (plotters with a front panel)
  60. --------------------------------------------------
  61. If you use a discrete size setting in the front panel "Page Format" option
  62. you must, in the "Media Options" window, select an orientation which does not 
  63. use the lower right-hand corner as the point of origin.

  67. "Scale to fit" setting
  68. ----------------------
  69. If you choose the "Scale to fit" option in the "Plot Configuration" window you will 
  70. see different effects when you plot to file and when you plot directly to a port.
  71. These are:
  72.  
  73.  - Plotting to file: printable area is determined using the standard margins of the 
  74.    plotter and not the margins specified by AutoCAD.
  75.  
  76.  - Plotting to port: the printable area is determined using the dimensions of the 
  77.    page loaded in the plotter (in this case the printable area never exceeds the 
  78.    area specified in AutoCAD).

  81. "Software" and "Inked Area" front panel settings

  83. Both of these settings, accessible form the front panel's "Page Format" menu, are 
  84. treated as being the same by the driver.

  87. Cancelling a Job
  88. ----------------
  89. It is not possible to cancel a job using the Status Monitor if the job is inside
  90. a nest of jobs.  However, the cancel will be effecive on the following nest if it 
  91. contains pages of the cancelled job.

  102. 1.- Make sure you have installed the latest version (C4 or higher) 
  103.     of AutoCAD r12 for Windows.  Autodesk provides a free upgrade 
  104.     for all AutoCAD for Windows users to this version.

  107. 2.- In order to be sure that your HP driver for AutoCAD is
  108.     correctly installed, check the contents of the following files:
  109.

  111.     File 1: ACAD.ADS
  112.  
  113.     This file, which can be found by default in the directory
  114.     C:\ACADWIN, should include the following instructions:
  115.  
  116.     acadapp
  117.     C:\ACADWIN\SUPPORT\HPMPLOT.EXE

  120.     File 2: WIN.INI
  121.  
  122.     This file, which can be found by default in the directory
  123.     C:\WINDOWS, should include under the section:

  134. 3.- You can only install the HP-GL/2 driver for one 
  135.     AutoCAD Release 12 configuration per PC.

  138. AutoCAD release 13 for Windows users.

  141. This version requires a significant amount of memory. If error
  142. messages are encountered, we recommend you add more memory to your PC.

  144. (Autodesk recommends a minimum of 16Mb of RAM, but be aware that this 
  145. is the basic configuration)
