AutoCAD LT Release 2 for Windows
--------------------------------
Everything you need for 2D CAD. A full 32-bit application, AutoCAD LT
Release 2 for Windows is a complete 2D design and drafting package
with a comprehensive set of drawing and editing tools.
Features include:
----------------
* Windows Graphical User Interface. Use pull-down and cascading menus,
accelerator keys, dialog boxes, icon-based toolbox and toolbar, and
Windows-based installation for easy learning and use.
* Powerful 2D CAD Capabilities. Choose from drawing tools that include
Point, Line, Arc, Circle, Donut, Ellipse, Polygon, Polyline, and
Double Line; snap modes that include Center, Endpoint, Tangent,
Perpendicular, Intersection, Midpoint, Nearest, Node, and Quadrant;
and editing tools that include Array, Copy, Mirror, Fillet, Chamfer,
Offset, Trim, Extend, Scale, Move, Stretch, and Rotate. Choose from 27
linetypes, 256 colors, unlimited layers, and 38 text fonts.
* AutoCAD .DWG File Compatibility. Share your drawings with other
AutoCAD software users-AutoCAD LT drawings are fully compatible with
AutoCAD Release 11 and Release 12 and upwardly compatible with AutoCAD
Release 13.
* Quick Setup and Custom Setup. Simplify and automate the process of
selecting drawing units, limits, and visual drawing aids with Quick
Setup. Choose from predefined borders and title blocks with Custom
Setup, or add your own custom title block to match company standards.
* Title Blocks. Begin a drawing using one of 12 supplied industry
standard ANSI or ISO borders and title blocks.
* Tooltips. Move the mouse cursor to an icon and its function appears.
Direct Distance Entry. Move the mouse in the direction you want a line
to go, enter the correct distance directly from the keyboard, and the
line appears.
* Cue Cards and On-Line Help. Access detailed step-by-step procedures
from On-line Help. Press F1 at any time and consult On-line Help for
the command or pull-down menu currently in use.
* On-Line Orientation. Grasp the connection between CAD and paper-based
drafting to ease your transition to AutoCAD LT. Learn to automate
common drafting tasks in CAD with greater ease and precision than ever
before.
* User's Guide. New, enlarged AutoCAD LT User's Guide includes more
helpful hints. In addition to describing exactly what each command
will do, the User's Guide takes you through the drafting process, from
setting up a drawing to scaling the output for final plotting.
* Tracking. Precisely locate new points relative to existing points
without drawing construction lines. Use multiple tracking points in
succession be-fore continuing the current command.
* DIVIDE and MEASURE commands. Divide lines and arcs into equal
segments; place points or objects along lines, arcs, and circles at
equal increments. Place points or objects at fixed increments along a
line, arc, or circle with the MEASURE command.
* Associative Hatching. Select from among 52 patterns, point to an
enclosed area, and click to fill automatically. Islands and text
within the outer boundary are detected automatically. As area
boundaries change, hatching updates automatically.
* Entity Modification. Quickly change location, size, and properties of
lines, circles, arcs, points, polylines, text, blocks, attributes, and
solids with simple dialog-box selections.
* AutoCAD Commands and User Interface. Use the same commands as in
AutoCAD and a user interface similar to that in AutoCAD Release 12 for
Windows. Access a worldwide resource of trained AutoCAD users, as
needed, and prepare to move up to AutoCAD software.
* 3D CAD Tools. Use 3D extrusions, 3D line creation, hidden line removal
and shading; view 3D drawings in .DWG format to validate designs and
prepare for customer presentations.
* Customization and Macro Support. Easily modify toolbar, toolbox icons,
and menus, and create command scripts to automate repetitive tasks,
save time, and increase productivity.
* Object Linking and Embedding (OLE). Link or embed AutoCAD LT drawings
into other Windows applications, like Microsoftr Word for Windows or
Excel, to ensure that your reports and presentations always include
up-to-date drawings.
* Clipboard Support. Copy and paste Windows Metafiles and text into
AutoCAD LT drawings, or copy and paste AutoCAD LT drawings into other
Windows programs for higher-quality reports, presentations,
publications, and documents.
* Raster Output. Output AutoCAD LT drawings in a variety of
standards-.BMP, .GIF, .PCX, and .TIFF-for use with other graphics or
desktop publishing packages, while controlling format, resolution, and
color depth.
* Aerial View. Open a separate window within the AutoCAD LT screen to
display the global view or quickly pan or zoom to any area on a
drawing, even during a command.
* Customizable Toolbox. Choose from four different modes-floating, flush
right, flush left, or off. Completely user-definable, the Toolbox
speeds access to drawing and editing tools.
* Time-and-Date Stamp. Automatically affix user name, file name, time,
and date to your drawing; automatically update this information when
you choose.
* Customizable Toolbar. Modify unused buttons, resize them for easy
viewing at high resolution, and customize AutoCAD LT for your specific
needs and quick execution of frequently used commands.
* Alternate Menus. Quickly and easily change menus without having to
restart the program.
* Faster Printing. New printer driver speeds printing and plotting to
most PostScriptr and desktop Windows printers and plotters by over 100
percent. And AutoCAD LT now fully supports HPGL plotters.
* Enhanced Graphics Performance. New display driver and aerial view
window speed graphics performance and add dynamic capabilities to save
time when changing views, redrawing, panning, and zooming.
* Network Versatility. Users on different workstations can access a
server-based copy of AutoCAD LT while maintaining individual
configuration and preference files that specify window colors, fonts,
size and position, toolbar and toolbox configurations, and list of last
four files opened.
