  3.         Configuring MICROSOFT WINDOWS NT 3.5 Video Miniport Driver

  12. . Install Trident miniport driver:
  13.  
  14. 1. Bootup to Windows NT with [VGA Mode] option (standard VGA driver).
  15.  
  16. 2. Open the DOS promt in the MAIN group
  17.  
  18. 3. Go to the drive and directory where the NT35 driver files are located
  19.    i.e., A: 
  20.  
  21. Assume that Windows NT is installed in the C:\WINNT35 directory
  22.  
  23. 4. Type NTINSTL C:\WINNT35, and press ENTER
  24.  
  25.    The NTINSTL.BAT do following work:
  26.  
  27.        A. Copy A:TRIDENT.SYS TO C:\WINNT35\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\TRIDENT.SYS
  28.  
  29. 5. Run the Windows NT display Setup program located in the Control
  30.    Panel, Main group.
  31.  
  32. 6. Select one of the "Trident 8900C, Trident 9000, Trident Compatible
  33.    Graphics Adapter" driver(depend on your hardware).
  34.  
  35. 7. Click on INSTALL
  36.  
  37. 8. Click on CURRENT when you see this message. "The driver(s) for this display 
  38.    are already on your system.  Do you want to use the currently install 
  39.    driver(s) or install new one(s)
  40.  
  41. 9. Click on RESTART NOW for the drivers to take effect.

  44. . Select Display Resolution and color:
  45.  
  46. 1. Bootup to Windows NT (do not use [VGA Mode] option).
  47.  
  48. 2. Run the Windows NT display Setup program located in the Control Panel,
  49.    Main group.
  50.  
  51. 3. Select the resolution and color you want.
  52.  
  53. 4. Click on OK
  54.  
  55. 5. Click on RESTART NOW to restart Windows NT.
