README for SPEA's DOS-Player MEDIASTATION
for SPEA SHOWTIME PLUS Vers. 1.00
=========================================
Start of the programm:
> MSTATION
Using the full screen batch mode:
> MSTATION #<filename>
Using this command, MEDIASTATION immediately plays the MPEG <filename> in
fullscreen-mode, without displaying any prompts.
This function is helpful i.e. for playing some MPEG files within a
DOS batch file.
Common-Use:
-----------
If MSTATION detectes a VIDEO-CD in your CD-Drive, MSTATION
lists the files from this CD (files at the MPEGAV-Directory,
if available).
If not - or after pressing CANCEL - the standard file menu
will be shown. There you can choose files and directories
as known.
Here you can choose FLIC files with the extension *.FL? *.CEL *.SCR or
the MPEG files *.MPG, *.VPG, *.DAT.
Using Mouse and Hotkeys:
------------------------
Menu-Buttons:
ON/OFF: Quitting the DOS-Player
EJECT: Opening and closeing the CD-Drive
LOAD FILE: Loading a new file
VIDEO MODE: Chooseing one of the following video modes:
640 x 480 True-Color (recommanded)
640 x 480 High-Color
800 x 600 True-Color
800 x 600 High-Color
1024 x 768 High-Color
FULL SCREEN: Useing the largest display mode as possible
(full screen at 640x480-Modes,
back with any key or a mouse click)
MUTE: Switching audio on / off
REWIND: Rewinding to the beginning
SINGLE STEP: one picture forward
PLAY: Playing the video
PAUSE: Pausing
STOP: Stop
BACK: nearly 10% backwards
FORWARD: nearly 10% forwards
slidebars:
Track: shows the position whithin the played file
Volume: Changeing the volume
Balance: balance left / right
To change the position of this slidebars you can use the mouse directly.
Changing the position of the menu:
If you click outside of the menu area, you can change the location
of the menu while moving the mouse.
Hotkeys whithin the menu-mode:
<space> <return> : PLAY
'S', 's': STOP
'P', 'p': PAUSE
'L', 'l': LOAD FILE
'V', 'v': VIDEO MODE
<esc>, 'q': OFF (QUIT)
At the fullscreen-mode:
'+', '-': volume increase, decrease
clicking the mouse or pressing any key: back to the menu-mode
PAUSE: After pressing PAUSE you have to press PAUSE again
to continue playing
Playing CD-I's:
---------------
Playing CD-I's is possible, with the following restrictions:
At the right edge 48 pixels will be cut. If there is a picture moving from
the right edge to the left, green arrays will appear. This areas are to be
seen up to the next I-frame. This effects are due to hardware limitations.
With the SPEA Media Station you can NOT use any interactive parts of a CD-I.
You can only play the CD-I files.
