  30. A) What's new?
  31. ==============
  32.    Concerning to the last BigBlue 2.02 Seamless Windows can also be used
  33.    in True Color modes.
  34.    The mouse problems in the DOS Sessions are fixed.

  36. B) Properties of the Driver
  37. ===========================
  38.    This driver supports the following resolutions and color depth in the
  39.    OS/2 Workplace Shell:
  40.       640 * 480  * 256 colors
  41.       800 * 600  * 256 colors
  42.      1024 * 768  * 256 colors
  43.      1152 * 870  * 256 colors                            (*)
  44.      1280 * 1024 * 256 colors (Only with 2 MB videoram!)
  45.       640 * 480  * 64k colors
  46.       800 * 600  * 64k colors                            (*)
  47.      1024 * 768  * 64k colors (Only with 2 MB videoram!)
  48.       640 * 480  * 16M colors                            (*)(**)
  49.       800 * 600  * 16M colors (Only with 2 MB videoram!) (**)

  51.   (*)  In these resolutions Seamless Windows is only supported by
  52.        V7-MIRAGE P-64 boards with 2 MB videoram.
  53.   (**) AVI file playback are not supported.

  55.    The BigWin driver can be installed in the Windows Session in all available
  56.    resolutions and also with color depth higher than 256 colors.
  57.    Also if the BigWin is configured in another resolution than the OS/2
  58.    environment it is possible to switch between both surfaces without
  59.    any problems.

  61. C) Requirements for Installation
  62. ================================
  63.    OS/2 has to be installed and runs with standard VGA driver or and older
  64.    BigBlue driver with the V7-MIRAGE P-64 board in the OS/2 environment as
  65.    well.
  66.    Note: You need the V7-MIRAGE P-64 "Drivers for Windows" Disk for the
  67.    installation.

  70. D) Installation of the OS/2 Drivers
  71. ===================================
  72. 1. (Only when drivers are downloaded from mailbox)
  73.    Extract the files to an 1.44MB floppy a name this disk "V7-MIRAGE P-64
  74.    BigBlue".
  75.    A disk label is NOT necessary any longer.
  76.  
  77. 2. Start OS/2.
  78.    Important: before beginning the installation shut down any running
  79.    OS/2 and Windows programs!
  80.    Open a fullscreen session or an OS/2 window. Put the disk labelled
  81.    "V7-MIRAGE P-64 BigBlue" in drive A: and enter:
  82.       A:\V7SETOS2
  83.    Follow the instructions on the screen and if unsure at any point,
  84.    call the online help.

  86.    After terminating the program and restarting OS/2 you have access to
  87.    the OS/2 desktop and seamless Windows with the BigBlue driver and
  88.    to Windows via the BigWin driver in the resolution and color depth
  89.    that you selected.

  92. E) Changing the resolution under OS/2 or Win-OS/2
  93. =================================================
  94. After you have installed BigBlue a new folder named "SPEA/V7" will be
  95. created on your desktop with the V7SETOS2 program icon. After starting
  96. this program you can change the resolution or color depth before restarting
  97. your system to initialize the changes.
  98.  
  99. Note the following if you wish to use a different resolution under Win-OS/2
  100. as opposed to the OS/2 desktop.
  101. 1. Deactivate the checkbox 'Use settings in Win-OS/2 fullscreen session'.
  102. 2. Start Win-OS/2. Select the options 'File' and 'Run' in the Program
  103.    Manager. Then enter V7SETUP' without a path or drive. After starting
  104.    the program make the changes for your Win-OS/2 session in the same
  105.    way as under V7SETOS2.

  107.    Note: V7SETUP for Windows can't be started as a seamless window
  108.    application.
  109.  
  110. F) Known Restrictions
  111. =====================
  112. Videoplayer:
  113.    If you change to a fullscreen session whilst running a video then text
  114.    will be displayed in black on blak. Switching from digital video to
  115.    fullscreen windows can cause the system to crash.
  116.  
  117. SPtune:
  118.    User modes (tuned modes) are currently not supported. They are not shown
  119.    in V7SETOS2 but are used and running if set under SPtune.
  120.  
  121. SPEAview:
  122.    SPEAview should not be used under Win-OS2.
