  27. Welcome to 3D-Win, SPEA's 3D viewer for Windows! 
  28. This software is simple to use and offers a number of attractive

  46. (a) PC + Memory
  47. To use AutoCAD and BigFocus effectively you will need a large amount of
  48. memory and a large Windows swap file. Special information on this topic
  49. is described in the AutoCAD for Windows documentation and in the
  50. corresponding Autodesk forum in CompuServe.

  52. (b) Windows
  53. The current version of this software is for Windows 3.1x, Windows for 
  54. Workgroups, Windows(R) 95 and Windows NT. Differences in the functionality
  55. of the respective versions are documented in the integrated online help.
  56. Please note that Windows(R) 95 and Windows NT users must be using
  57. AutoCAD 13.

  68. Previous limitations has been removed. The following now apply for
  69. AutoCAD 13 users:

  71. - DWGs can be directly imported from AutoCAD 13 sessions
  72. - Layer manipulation is now possible

  74. 2.2  FIRE GL and Hardware Acceleration

  76. It is now also possible for Windows NT to activate the hardware
  77. acceleration option for the FIRE GL's Glint chip.

  80. 3    Troubleshooting
  81. ====================

  83. Windows 3.1
  84. Problem:
  85. 3D-Win reports that it can not find various files.
  86.  
  87. Solution:
  88. Check the file W3DVIEW.INI file in your Windows directory.
  89. It will contain the following section:
  90.  
  91. [viewer]
  92. ....
  93. startdir=c:\viewer
  94. acaddir=c:\acadwin
  95. acad13dir=c:\acadwin
  96. ....
  97. Acad13=1
  98.  
  99. whereby the path (C:\VIEWER in this example) must correspond to your 
  100. installation target directory. Alter or add the entries if necessary.
  101. If you are using AutoCAD 12 then the entry Acad12=1 must be present
  102. (and likewise Acad13=1 if you are using AutoCAD 13).

  104. Problem:
  105. 3D-Win doesn't display the toolbar or status bar.
  106.  
  107. Solution:
  108. Check the file W3DVIEW.INI file in your Windows directory.
  109. It will contain the following section:

  114. Statusbar=0
  115. ....

  117. Check the entries and set them to 1 in order to activate the elements.
