  1. Due to the nature of PnP, the Windows 95 Driver (DC690.PDR) can only support
  2. one DC-690C/CD(*) to be the Primary IDE card. But other non-PCI DC-6x0 or
  3. non-PCI normal IDE board can still be used as the Secondary one.

  5. (*)  1. DC-690C is default to have the "PCI Configuration Space" disabled.
  6. This may invalidate your driver installation while using the driver DC690.PDR.
  7. It works, though, with DC6X0.PDR driver under /WIN95, but wouldn't have the PnP
  8. feature. To enable the "PCI Configuration Space" in order to have the PnP take
  9. effect you may put the cap on pin2-3 of JP3, which is on the lower left conner.
  10.      2. With the "PCI Configuration Space" disabled you'd be able to work
  11.         two DC-690Cs in the same system.
  12.      3. DC-690CD does not allow you to disable the "PCI Configuration Space".

  16.    1. Boot Windows 95 and click on "Start"
  17.    2. Select "RUN"
  18.    3. Type "A:\win95.pci\install.exe"
  19.    4. Follow instruction step by step to install driver
  20.    5. Click on "Next"
  21.    6. Select "No" and Click on "Next"
  22.    7. Select "Hard disk controller"
  23.    8. Click on "Next"
  24.    9. Click on "Have disk"
  25.   10. Type "a:\win95.pci"
  26.   11. Select "Tekram PCI IDE Cache Controller (DC690-CD)"
  27.   12. Click on "Next"
  28.   13. Click on "Next"
  29.   14. Click on "Finish"
  30.   15. The message  "To finish setting up your new device driver you must
  31.       restart your computer. do you want to restart your computer now"
  32.       will be on the screen. Click on "YES" and restart computer.

  35.    After Windows 95 reboots, it'll then dectect the DC-690 as a new Primary PCI
  36.    IDE controller and require you to re-boot. Select "NO" to proceed. The
  37.    system would go on detecting the Seconary IDE controller and ask for re-boot.

  41.    1. Click on "Start"
  42.    2. Select "RUN"
  43.    3. Type "A:\win95.pci\uninstal.exe"
  44.    4. The message  "To finish un-installation you must restart your computer,
  45.       do you want to restart your computer now"
  46.       will be on the screen. Click on "YES" and restart computer.
