I. 1st time installation
1. Install Windows 95
2. Open an MS-DOS Prompt
3. Type and execute "REGEDIT a:\DIR\pci.reg", where DIR would be the
directory containing the driver files
4. Click on "OK"
5. Shutdown the computer and reboot
6. Select "My Computer"
7. Open "Control Panel"
8. Open "System"
9. click on "Device Manager"
10. double click on "Hard disk controllers"
11. Select "National Semiconductor Dual PCI IDE Controller (RMM Support Only)"
12. Click on "Remove"
13. Click on "OK"
14. Click on "No" /*do not restart*/
15. Go back to "Control Panel"
16. Double click on "Add New Hardware"
17. Click on "Next"
18. Select "No" and click on "Next"
19. Click on "Hard Disk Controllers"
20. Click on "Have disk..."
21. Change win95 driver path to "A:\win95"
22. Click on "OK"
23. Click on "Finished"
24. Shutdown the computer and reboot
[NOTE]
25. During the "new hardware found" procedure as the system boots up,
DO NOT restart until the system finds the secondary PCI IDE controller
====> After successful reboot
Check if the Hard Disk Controller under device manager contains correct
information for the PC87410 driver.
26. If yellow "!"s show up, please repeat steps 2 through 5
II. Driver update
1. Enter "Device Manager"
2. Select "Hard disk controllers"
3. Double click on "National Semiconductor Dual PCI IDE controller (PC87410)"
4. Click on "driver"
5. Click on "Change driver"
6. Click on "Have disk"
7. Change source path to "A:\win95"
8. Click on "OK"
