define the font used to print text. These settings
include typeface, pitch and symbol set.
@@ Typeface
Typeface
Select a typeface (the unique name given to a
specific set of characters and symbols with a
characteristic design).
The typeface, together with the symbol set and
point size (for proportional typefaces) or pitch
(for fixed space typefaces) will define a font.
When you select a typeface, Control Panel shows
only the symbol set and pitch or point size
available for that typeface.
@@ Symbol Set

screen.
@@ Point Size
Pitch/Point Size
Pitch and point size are both ways to describe the
size of a font's characters.
Fixed space fonts, like Courier, are measured in
pitch, which is the number of characters that can
be printed along a horizontal line 1 inch long.
Proportional fonts, are measured in point size.
Point size refers to the height of the character.

@@ Print Quality
Print Quality
The Print Quality option lets you adjust the
quality of your output.
Settings include:
- TonrSavR, which lets you reduce your toner usage
by printing lighter pages
- EET, which improves the appearance of line art
and text
- Density, which adjusts the darkness of the output
@@ TonrSavR
TonrSavR
Select TonrSavR(R) (Destiny's toner saver
technology) to reduce printing costs by using less
toner.
The Light setting will use the least amount of
toner. The Dark setting will produce more legible
output while still saving some toner.
Setting TonrSavR to Off results in normal output
and toner usage.
@@ EET
EET
Select EET(R) (Destiny's Edge Enhancement
Technology) mode to improve the appearance of text
and graphics. EET smoothes the jagged edges of
characters and line art, resulting in higher
quality output.
Use the EET setting that works best with your
printer and toner cartridge: Light if your toner
appears dark; Medium if your toner looks normal;
Dark if your toner is light.
@@ Density
Density
Select the default density of the toner applied to
the page.
This feature allows you to adjust the darkness of
the output or compensate for variations among toner
cartridges.
@@@
@@ Memory
Memory
The Memory option lets you control how memory is
used in your printer to avoid printing problems
with certain types of page images. The settings
include Page Protection for complex pages.
@@ Page Protection
Page Protection
Specifies that the printer does not print a page
until the entire page is fully composed. This
allows the printer to print complex pages that
can cause printer overrun errors.
The settings for Page Protection are Off, Letter,
A4, Legal, and Automatic (default).
Page Protection is not normally needed. However,
if the printer receives an unusually complicated
page that contains a complex image or layout, the
printer might start to print the page before the
processor can finish imaging the page. As a result
the page might not print correctly.
If you turn on Page Protection to Letter, A4, or
Legal, the printer reserves printer memory and does
not begin printing until the processor has finished
imaging the entire page. The page then prints
correctly, although it takes slightly longer to
print.
When Auto is selected, the printer first analyzes
each page. If a page is complex, Page Protection
is turned on automatically; otherwise, the printer
prints the page without using Page Protection.
If you continue to see print data loss even with
Page Protect on, your printer may need more memory.
Please see your User Manual.

@@ Other
Other
Other lets you control the operation of the
printer. The settings include:
- Power Save mode, which shuts the printer down
after an idle period
@@ Power Save
Power Save Mode
Enable the printer to use the power save feature.
When power save is On, if the printer does not
receive any activity from the computer for 15
minutes, the printer will automatically drop down
to low power usage mode until it is needed again.
