  6.  IF YOU HAVE 
  7. Previously installed the OL600e software for Windows 3.1x; YOU MUST
  8. (REPEAT) MUST REMOVE THE ORIGINAL OL600E WINDOWS 3.1x SOFTWARE BEFORE
  9. INSTALLING THE NEW OL600e WINDOWS 3.1x Software Rev. 4.0.

  12. INSTRUCTIONS BELOW WILL REMOVE ORIGINAL OL600E WINDOWS 3.1x SOFTWARE

  15. To remove the Original OL600e Windows 3.1x software:
  16.  
  17. Make changes in the SYSTEM.INI  file.  To do this, run the system
  18. editor:
  19.  
  20. 1.      Select File from the Program Manager
  21. 2.      From the menu displayed select Run
  22. 3.      Type "sysedit" in the dialog box, click OK.  The sysedit
  23.     program will then load the WIN.INI and SYSTEM.INI in 
  24.     addition to other files.
  25. 4.      Select the SYSTEM.INI window.
  26. 5.      Locate the heading [boot]
  27. 6.      Locate the line labeled "comm.drv=okicomm.drv"
  28. 7.      Change the line to read comm.drv=comm.drv 
  29. 8.      From the FILE menu, select Save
  30. 9.      Select Exit.

  32. Note: If the OL600e Status Monitor is open, it must be closed before
  33.       you can proceed.

  35. 1.      Click the OKIDATA HIPER/W SETUP Program Group
  36. 2.      Double Click the Okidata Install/Deinstall program
  37. 3.      Select active language
  38. 4.      Click Continue
  39. 5.      Click De-Install
  40. 6.      At dialog box click Next
  41. 7.      Restart Windows
  42. 8.      Close the OKIDATA HIPER/W SETUP Program Group
  43. 9.      Click File then Delete to delete the group.

  48. CREATING YOUR OL600e WINDOWS 3.1x INSTALLATION DISKS
  49.  
  50. Note: This software will ONLY work with 3 1/2 in. 1.44MB floppies.

  52. Before Installing the OL600e Software into Windows 3.1x Driver
  53. Diskettes must be created. To create the OL600e Windows 3.1x Driver
  54. Diskettes you will need to follow the 2 steps listed below.

  56. CREATING DISKETTE 1
  57.  
  58. Step 1. Label a blank diskette with "OL600e Windows 3.1x Software
  59.     Support" Please include the part number 33118704e1; please
  60.     refer to this part number when calling Okidata for
  61.     technical support. Insert the formatted 1.44MB diskette in
  62.     the floppy drive.

  64. Step 2. Go to the Program Manager in Windows 3.1x. From the
  65.     Program Manager select "FILE" then select "RUN", in the
  66.     dialog box displayed TYPE the path information you
  67.     recorded earlier, followed by \MAKEDISK. Next type a space
  68.     followed by the letter of the floppy drive in which you
  69.     inserted the blank diskette.

  72. C:\Windows\TEMP\MAKDISK1 A:

  74. After entering the command shown above then select "OK".

  79. Step 3. Follow the directions for STEP 1 and label the diskette with
  80.     "OL600e Windows 3.1x Software Support" Please include the 
  81.     part number 33118804e1.

  83. Step 4. Repeat STEP 2.

  88. To install the NEW OL600e Windows 3.1x  Software Support diskettes

  90. Insert disk 1 into your disk drive:

  92. 1.      Click File Menu
  93. 2.      Click Run
  94. 3.      Type a:\setup 
  95. 4.      Click OK.
