  4. This readme document contains the latest update information about the
  5. Video Package for Video Blaster MP400 card in OS/2 Warp.

  10. The complete Video Package includes

  13.    o  Video Blaster Setup and Video Blaster Configure programs

  16. The following is a brief description of the various files in the diskette :

  18.    o  CTVIDEO.ICO          - Icon file for Video Blaster Folder
  19.    o  MP400VID.SYS         - Video device driver
  20.    o  MP400AUD.SYS         - Audio device driver

  22.    o  MP400STP.EXE         - Video Blaster MP400 Setup Program
  23.    o  MP400STP.HLP         - Video Blaster MP400 Setup Help file

  31. Installation Instructions
  32. -------------------------

  34. To install the Video Blaster MP400 Drivers :
  35.  
  36. a. Run the program INSTALL.EXE from OS/2 command prompt.
  37.    This program can be found in the Diskette provided.
  38.    => The 'Selective Installation Utility' dialog box appears.
  39.  
  40. b. Select the features to be installed.
  41.  
  42. c. Click the INSTALL button to begin installation.
  43.    => The 'Installation Status' dialog box appears.
  44.  
  45. d. If your system is not pre-installed with MPEG drivers, a dialog box,
  46.    prompting for drive to install from, appears. Select the drive.
  47.    => The MPEG driver files will be unpacked and installed into system.
  48.  
  49. e. Click the YES button to proceed with the installation when the
  50.    'Warning' dialog box appears.
  51.    => The 'Video Blaster MP400 Card Setup' dialog box appears.
  52.  
  53. e. Click the spin button to set the :
  54.       - Interrupt          5, 10(default), 11, 12, or 15
  55.       - Port Address       240, 280, 2C0(default), 300, 340 or 380
  56.       - High DMA Channel   5, 6 or 7(default)
  57.       
  58.       => The installation is successfully completed when you are prompted
  59.          to shutdown and reboot the system.
  60.       => The original CONFIG.SYS, MMPM2.INI and MMPMMMIO.INI are backed up
  61.          to CONFIG.$$$, MMPM2.$$$ and MMPMMMIO.$$$ respectively.

  63. f. Shut down the system immediately. Any attempt to run other multimedia
  64.    programs before shut down may cause the lost of update made to the
  65.    system configuration files.

  67. Known limitations
  68. -----------------
  69.  
  70.    o  Can support a resolution up to 800x600.
  71.    o  No support for CD-I.
  72.    o  Note that some systems' HDMA do not work properly.
  73.    o  Playback from CD-ROM on low end system exhibits poor performance due
  74.       to high overhead in OS/2 MPEG architecture.
  75.    o  Playback of Video-CD is smoother than MPEG files on CDROM drive.
  76.    o  Multiple seeks before current seek is complete can cause the Media
  77.       Player's buttons to be disabled.

  79. Special Notes
  80. -------------
  81.  
  82.    o  If you encounter video jerkiness during playback, you may like
  83.       to specify /Z option for MP400VID.SYS driver in CONFIG.SYS. However,
  84.       this option may not work on some MPEG streams.
