QA Notes
========
-VPM is being tested by performing video playback using Margi's & Sigma's
Reelmagic MPEG cards as clients. Margi's Capture To Go card is also being
used to test video playback & capture from different video sources, such as
VCR's & camcorders. The following resolutions, color depths & vertical
refresh rates are supported by the VPM Provider:
RESOLUTION COLOR DEPTH VERTICAL REFRESH RATE
---------- ----------- ---------------------
640x480 256 colors 60 Hz
800x600 256 colors 60 Hz
1024x768 256 colors 60 Hz
640x480 64K colors 60 Hz
800x600 64K colors 60 Hz (2M video memory only)
Known Problems
==============
-Changing resolution while video playback is runnning may cause GPF. Make
sure you turn off any video playback before changing resolution. PDR#3725
-When expansion is enabled, VPM errors will occur when performing a video
playback on either SimuSCAN or lcd only display using an 800x600 TFT
panel.
-VPM errors will occur when performing video playback on an XGA, 1024x768,
TFT panels using Margi's MPEG to go card.
-Running the MS Game modes demos sometimes causes artifacts to appear on
screen.
-Toggle between DOS session and PM after setting to some low resolution
standard modes causes unpreditable results.
-In 3V notebook system, list of refresh rate options includes those not
suitable for 3V (ie. 1024x768x256 72Hz). PDR#4045
-Some problems encountered running different MPEG decoders.
-Bandwidth corruption occurs when moving the TV-Tap video window around the
screen. PDR#3670
-Downscaling the video window during video playback causes color corruption
16 million color depth. PDR#3797
-Zooming the video window in TV-Tap causes a GPF. PDR#3688
-Video image freezes after transferring the video to the TV-Tap remote
control then moving it around the desktop. PDR#3671
-Performing a res-on-the-fly causes TV-Tap to stall. PDR#3672
-System shutdown will hang when TV-Tap is still active. PDR#3679
-Video corruption occurs when performing a video playback in simulscan
display & expansion mode is on. PDR#3476
-Video display turns black when maximizing the video window in TV-Tap.
PDR#3666
Win95 Driver limitation
=======================
-Opening multiple video playback windows will cause GPF because there is
no support for this feature.
-In 640x480x256 and with a SVGA panel in non-expanded mode, MVA may be
enabled during MPEG playback. But if you use hot-key to turn on expansion,
MVA is disabled by design and MVA will still be off even after you toggle
expansion back to off.
-In TV mode, open any application shows that bottom of the application is
chopped off because TV uses 640x400 resolution mode.
-Switching from any non-TV display type to TV requires Win95 to restart.
This is by design.
-In TV mode, the Win95 logo screen got shifted down because TV uses 640x400
resolution mode.
