  105. Notes: Use the following table carefully.  With panning/scrolling features 
  106.        enabled, higher resolution can be acheived even with smaller panel,
  107.        ie. 1024x768 resolution running in 640x480 TFT panel.  The same does
  108.        not apply to color depth.

  122. How to install 7543 Windows 3.1 Driver
  123. ======================================
  124.  
  125. Prior to installing these drivers, Make sure that Windows is using
  126. the VGA driver that was included with Windows. If Windows is using any other 
  127. driver, reconfigure Windows using Setup from DOS or from within Windows.
  128.  
  129. 1. Insert the 7543 Windows 3.1x Driver Installation diskette into A: or B:.
  130. 2. Run INSTALL.EXE on the diskette from Windows File Manager.
  131. 3. Follow instructions on screen to complete the installation process.
  132. 4. A WinMode program will pop up to ask user to select options.  Select
  133.    any desired choice to fit your preference.

  136. OS/2 2.1x Warning
  137. =================
  138.  
  139. If you are installing these windows drivers into WIN-OS/2 2.1x, at the end 
  140. of this installation, a WinMode utility program will pop up to allow you to 
  141. choose different colors and resolutions.  MAKE SURE you select the 
  142. "OS/2-Windows" option in the Operating System group.  
  143.

  145. Known Problems
  146. ==============
  147.  
  148. The following items were discovered during testing against the test plan
  149. documented in the release notes:
  150.  
  151. -Performing a video MPEG playback using the XING mpeg player v1.1 and 
  152.  zooming the video window causes video corruption.  PDR#3465
  153.  
  154. -Double video windows shown while using Ctrl-2 to zoom the video playback
  155.  windows in Xing MPEG in 640x480x64K mode. PDR#4103
  156.  
  157. -In 16 million colors, open a DOS full screen, set to standard modes 
  158.  0 and 1 and then press Alt-Enter, and Enter again, the display is corrupted. 
  159.  
  160. -With 800x600 DSTN panel, set to some standard video (ie. 0H,1H) in DOS full 
  161.  screen, Alt-Enter few times to toggle between PM and DOS full screen
  162.  sometimes show few lines of big characters on screen or blank display.
  163.  
  164. -Horizontal lines flash across the panel when switching between windowed
  165.  DOS session and DOS full screen. - PDR 2436
  166.  
  167. -In TV display mode only, application name title is not shown while pressing
  168.  Alt-Tab in DOS full screen. - PDR 2788
  169.  
  170. -In 16M colors mode, open a windowed DOS session then warm boot machine
  171.  would corrupt screen but pressing Esc recover the screen image.

  173.  
  174. Windows 3.1 driver limitation
  175. =============================
  176.  
  177. -Japanese and some Asian Windows 3.1x do not support change-res-on-fly.
  178.  Changing a new resolution in Winmode will trigger Windows reboot.
  179.  
  180. -Execute Change-res-on-fly and part of a dialogue box remains after importing 
  181.  Microsoft Windows Metafile (*.WMF) in Adobe Illustrator 4.0. This is a
  182.  problem with application not knowing new res. has taken effect. PDR#2796
  183.  
  184. -Use Winmode to switch from low res. to high res with a file open in Adobe
  185.  Illustrator 4.0, dragging the scroll bar outwards will leave image of
  186.  the scroll bar.  This is a problem with application not knowing new res. 
  187.  has taken effect. PDR#2821, PDR#2822
  188.  
  189. -Changing display mode or changing resolution-on-the-fly (ROF) sometimes 
  190.  results in an icon missing or distorted image on screen when AfterDark is 
  191.  loaded in the background. This is due to AfterDark application not 
  192.  compatible with some features in the driver.
  193.  
  194. -Image is incompletely redrawn after switching from low resolution to high
  195.  resolution and GPF warning usually occur in Adobe Illustrator 4.0. PDR 2822
  196.  
  197. -After resolution-change-on-the-fly (ROF), user can not write letters in CIC
  198.  Handwriter for Windows.
  199.  
  200. -A GPF is generated when running Mediamatic Player in SimulSCAN with DSTN
  201.  SVGA panel.  This is a Mediamatic application issue. - PDR 1767
  202.  
  203. -Mediamatic MPEG Arcade Player shows color drop-off in video clip.  This is
  204.  a Mediamatic application issue. - PDR 2609
  205.  
  206. -Large font remains after switching back from TV to any non-TV display mode.
  207.  This is by design because Windows characters look better in large font in 
  208.  TV and WinMode currently has no way to save the font size before the TV 
  209.  switch. The users just have to be made aware that they need to change back 
  210.  to small font if that is what they desire after switching back from TV mode. 
  211.  This can be accomplished by selecting the small font radio button before 
  212.  pressing OK from the main WinMode dialog- PDR 2732
