  10.    CD-ROM Drive Support

  13.    The bundled CD-ROM device driver supports only on the following drives:

  20.    Using Digital (.WAV) Audio with DOS 6.x's DoubleSpace*
  21.    ======================================================

  23.    The DoubleSpace utility included with DOS 6.x can cause problems
  24.    if you attempt to play or record "high data rate" (i.e.: stereo/
  25.    44.1kHz/16-bit) digital audio to or from a compressed disk.
  26.  
  27.    Therefore, if you anticipate that you will be playing or recording
  28.    a lot of stereo/44.1kHz/16-bit digital audio, you should set up a
  29.    non-compressed drive partition and configure the audio application
  30.    to use this drive as their Work and Temp directories. 
  31.  
  32.    For information on setting up a non-compressed partition for your
  33.    hard drive, refer to your DOS 6.x Users Guide. 
  34.  
  35.    The same procedure should be followed if you are using Stacker, a
  36.    third-party disk compression utility.

  39.    Notes About Using EMM386.EXE
  40.    ============================
  41.  
  42.    When running applications with EMM386.EXE installed, the following
  43.    error message may appear:
  44.  
  45.       "EMM386 DMA buffer is too small"
  46.  
  47.    You can overcome this problem in two ways:
  48.  
  49.       - remove the EMM386.EXE entry from the CONFIG.SYS file
  50.  
  51.       OR
  52.  
  53.       - add the following parameter to the EMM386.EXE entry in the
  54.         CONFIG.SYS file:
  55.  
  56.            D=64
  57.  
  58.            where D specifies how many kilobytes of memory should be
  59.            reserved for buffered Direct Memory Access (DMA).

  61.         An example of this may be:

  63.            C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE D=64
