  15. Purpose of the program
  16. ----------------------
  17.   TrackerV3 is an Advanced File System Explorer. It comes with a Windows
  18.   Explorer-like interface but has a far broader scope: you get much more
  19.   information and you get it all on the fly, plus variously enhanced
  20.   functionality and ease of use, extended file find, reporting features,
  21.   instant preview of image, audio, and video files, and a general file
  22.   viewer for ASCII and binary files.

  25. Installation
  26. ------------
  27.   Extract Trkv360.zip to some temporary directory and run Install.exe.
  28.   The following files are installed to the directory you selected/created
  29.   during the install procedure:

  31.     TrackerV3.exe .... Application
  32.     TrackerV3.ini .... Configuration file (no overwrite if existing)
  33.     TrackerV3.hlp .... Help File
  34.     TrackerV3.cnt .... Help Contents File
  35.     TrackerV3.url .... Link to www.trackerv3.com
  36.     License.txt   .... Trackerv3 License Agreement
  37.     Readme.txt    .... Readme file (this file)
  38.     Uninstall.exe .... Uninstall program

  40.   A program group "TrackerV3" will be created under "Programs" in your
  41.   Start menu, containing four icons.
  42.  
  43.   The total size of all installed files will be about 1.33 MB.
  44.   No further files are added anywhere to your system, and nothing 
  45.   will be put into the registry but uninstall information.

  47.   To uninstall the program click the "Uninstall" icon in the
  48.   program group created during installation.

  51. Dependencies
  52. ------------
  53.   * VB5 runtime files
  54.     Trkv360.zip does NOT contain the VB5 runtime files needed to run TrackerV3.
  55.     This is to keep download times short, and because they are present on
  56.     almost every computer.
  57.     If you're not sure whether you got those files, it's easy to find out:
  58.     if you can start TrackerV3.exe you got them, if not you gotta get them.

  60.     ONLY IF THE PROGRAM DOES NOT START:
  61.       The VB5 runtime files needed can be found at this URL:

  63.       Download vb500a.zip (1MB, VB5 Runtime Modules. Self-installing).

  65.   * GdiPlus.dll
  66.     From ver 3.30 onwards TrackerV3 needs GdiPlus.dll (GDI+) to be installed. 
  67.     GdiPlus.dll is installed with the .net framework and included with Windows XP.

  69.     ONLY IF THE PROGRAM DOES NOT START:
  70.       If GdiPlus.dll is not present on your system, it is available here:

  72.       Installation instructions: run the self-extracting executable file 
  73.       gdiplus_dnld.exe, which you have downloaded from the above site. When 
  74.       prompted for an unzip folder, click the "Browse..." button and browse 
  75.       to the directory of TrackerV3.exe (probably C:\Program 
  76.       Files\TrackerV3\), then click the "Unzip" button and you are done. (Do 
  77.       not copy GdiPlus.dll into the system directory.)

  79. How to Upgrade
  80. --------------
  81.   Follow the installation instructions above. This will overwrite your
  82.   old files. Your old TrackerV3.ini file will not be overwritten
  83.   since it contains your registration code.

  89.   of these licenses provide you with all features, without any restrictions, nags,
  90.   or time limits.
