  6. DIGITAL CAMERA RAW FILES PLUGIN

  9. The DcrawPlugin is a thumbnail plugin, used to import thumbnails from raw 
  10. digital photos. Plugin also provides support for the internal viewer, 
  11. allowing supported raw photos to be shown in full size. 
  12.  
  13. DcrawPlugin is entirely based on the Dave Coffin's dcraw.c project, an
  14. open-source, multi-platform program for decoding raw photographs. Plugin
  15. just provides an interface to WhereIsIt, easy to use configuration dialog
  16. exposing relevant dcraw.c options, and takes care of proper formatting
  17. and in-memory transfer of the resulting image (original dcraw.c always 
  18. writes image to a file on disk in PPM format). All of the actual 
  19. functionality related to processing raw photos is that of dcraw.c.
  20. Note that more or less all raw photo file formats are undocumented, 
  21. functionality available was retrieved by reverse-engineering and guesswork.

  27. INSTALLING THE PLUGIN
  28. ---------------------
  29. Place DcrawPlugin.dll and dcraw.dll files in the subfolder "Plugins" in 
  30. WhereIsIt's main folder; for example, "C:\Program Files\WhereIsIt\Plugins". 
  31. No other installation is necessary, except optionally personalizing some 
  32. settings for individual plugins that offer configurable parameters.
