  14. Karen's Power Tools Newsletter.

  17. This program can adjust your computer's clock, either automatically 
  18. or on-demand. The correct time is obtained from one of the many 
  19. ultra-precise "Time Servers" available on the Internet. These 
  20. servers can trace their current time to one of the many time 
  21. standards, such as atomic clocks or GPS satellite time beacons.

  23. Requires Visual Basic Runtime v6.0 which can be downloaded 
  24. from http://www.karenware.com/powertools/runtimes.asp .

  28. Installation

  31. 1.  If you have not already done so, download and install the 
  32.     Visual Basic Runtime v6.0.  It can be downloaded from:

  36.     To install the runtime, execute the downloaded file, vbrun60-setup.exe.
  37.  
  38. 2.  Execute ptsync-setup.exe.  
  39.     This is a self-extracting/auto-installing archive file.

  43. Use
  44. ---
  45. Once run, Time Sync displays a window with three tabs. The first tab, 
  46. "Welcome" contains messages explaining the program's functions.
  47.  
  48. The second tab, "Auto Sync" has settings that allow you to schedule 
  49. and automatic sync, or adjust of your computer's clock to match an 
  50. Internet time server.
  51.  
  52. The third tab, "Manual Sync" allows you to sync your computer's clock 
  53. on demand. It also lets you explore the features of Internet Time 
  54. Servers, testing their responses to the three main time sync protocols.

  56. One button, in the bottom-right corner of the program's main window, 
  57. lets you add, change, or delete entries in the program's list of Internet 
  58. Time Servers.
