Banners shown by FreeRIP are downloaded from the Internet, anyway FreeRIP is NOT spyware: it does NOT collect or send information about you or your system.
Moreover banners are downloaded only when you are connected to the internet AND you use FreeRIP. FreeRIP includes an embedded browser which simply displays web pages that contains banners. When you are offline FreeRIP will only displays banners that where copied on your hard drive during the setup process.
If you don't like banners you can purchase a license from MGShareware to disable them.
