  2. CDVDinfo version 1.3.x - Information about DVD- and CDRW-drives

  6. 1. What's CDVDinfo?
  7. CDVDinfo is a small program that can tell you information's about
  8. your DVD or CDRW drive. The main reason for making this program
  9. was to learn a bit about programming for C++, combined with 
  10. learning something about DVD-drive region protection.

  12. 2. How do I pay for this program?
  13. You don't, it's for free.

  15. 3. What do I do with the saved file with information about my drive?
  16. You sent the files to this address: cdvdinfo@e-mail.dk

  18. 4. What are the files used for?
  19. We will collect information about all DVD and CDRW drives, at the
  20. moment the following information is saved:
  21.  
  22.   DVD-drives:
  23.     Manufactor
  24.     Product ID
  25.     Firmware revision
  26.     Vendor specific information
  27.     If DVD drive is Region set
  28.     Number of user controlled changes available
  29.     Number of manufactor resets available
  30.     The current region code scheme of the drive
  31.     supported DVD features
  32.   
  33.   CD-drives: 
  34.     Manufactor
  35.     Product ID
  36.     Firmware revision
  37.     Vendor specific information
  38.     supported CD features

  40. This information will be documented on the internet, no user 
  41. information will be shown. More informations will be saved
  42. for the next versions. When you update to a new version 
  43. of CDVDinfo, then sent the new information file again to
  44. cdvdinfo@e-mail.dk

  46. 5. The program does not work what do i do?
  47. If you don't have a ASPI layer installed on WIN9x/NT then go to
  48.  adaptecs webpage, or use this file.

  50. For win2000/XP use wnaspi32.dll
  51. and put it in the same directory as cdvdinfo.exe
