  2.          1.  Partitions recognition errors on the hard drive.
  3. =============================================================================

  5.  In some cases Partition Manager generates error-messages
  6.  during startup (for instance Partition Overrun), although disk was
  7.  re-partitioned with standard tools (FDISK). Other errors can be detected
  8.  also, for example, some formatted partitions are recognized as unformatted,
  9.  or Partition Manager denies to modify partition detecting file system errors.
  10.  In such cases Partition Manager does not perform any changes in partition to
  11.  avoid any data-loss. Some previous versions of Partition Manager really had
  12.  some problems with big hard drives (more than 8GB). These problems were due
  13.  to incompatibility of some combinations HardDisk+BIOS+Operating system and
  14.  they are removed in the last version. We have tested practically all modern
  15.  hard drives with our software.

  17.  In some cases such a error (like "Partition Overrun") is not caused by our
  18.  program incompatibility. It can be the case when partition was created on
  19.  another PC with different BIOS which interprets hard drive in different way.
  20.  There can be rounding problem, when one BIOS sees more cylinders that other
  21.  one. To use partitioning utilities in such cases hard drive should be
  22.  re-partitioned. If you still have similar problems, run Partition Manager
  23.  with option /LOG in command line: PM.EXE /LOG

  25.  Note: If you run Partition Manager from the floppy disk, string running
  26.  Partition Manager in AUTOEXEC.BAT should look like: PM.EXE /LOG.
  27.  Floppy disk should not be write-protected.

  29.  After that try to perform operations which are not working. When error
  30.  message occurs, exit from the program. In directory where
  31.  Partition Manager resides, you should find the file PMLOG.TXT.

  39.          2.   How to make correct bootable disk for DOS Partition Manager
  40. =============================================================================

  42.  To create bootable diskettes with product component(s) use Diskette Build
  43.  Wizard utility. You can start it from the product program group.
  44.  
  45.  However, you can create diskettes manually with special bat-file.
  46.  See file PREPDISK.BAT for Partition Manager diskette and
  47.  file MKFLOPPY.BAT for Rescue Disk.
