  6. GRAPHICS DESCRIPTION PLUGINS
  7. ============================
  8. Graphics description is a supplemental plugins module for importing details
  9. about most often used graphic file formats in use today. All plugins provide
  10. details such as width, height, and color depth of the picture, and most
  11. of them (GIF, JPG, TIFF, PSD, and PNG) can extract more detailed information
  12. if available, as well.

  17. CompuServe Bitmap Files (*.GIF)
  18. JPEG Bitmap Files (*.JPG, *.JPEG, *.JFIF)
  19. ZSoft Paintbrush Files (*.PCX)
  20. TIFF Bitmap Files (*.TIF, *.TIFF)
  21. PNG Bitmap Files (*.PNG)
  22. Adobe Photoshop Files (*.PSD)

  27. The JPEG and TIFF plugins include additional support to extract exposure 
  28. information commonly embedded in images transferred from digital cameras. 
  29. Please note however that not all cameras use the same format for storing
  30. these details, and they are generally lost if image is edited. Both plugins 
  31. include support for the ISO-standardized EXIF format that is supported by 
  32. most newer digital cameras today and by few different manufacturers, and
  33. are capable of exporting details such as camera model, shutter and aperture
  34. values, flash usage, focal length used etc.

  39. Thumbnail plugins can import smaller version of images to be stored in
  40. catalog as a reference.

  67. LIMITATIONS

  69. Enhanced PostScript Files (*. EPS) and Adobe Illustrator Thumbnails (*.AI) 
  70. plugins only handle files with available bitmap preview. Not all files of
  71. those types may have a preview embedded. Adobe Illustrator files before
  72. version 7 do not support thumbnails and will not be handled by this plugin.

  75. INSTALLING THE PLUGINS
  76. ======================
  77. Just as any other plugin, DescGraphics.dll is expected be located in 
  78. subfolder "Plugins" in WhereIsIt's main folder; for example, 
  79. "C:\Program Files\WhereIsIt\Plugins". No other installation is necessary, 
  80. the program will automatically detect and include plugins. You can enable, 
  81. disable, or setup individual plugins in program's settings.

  85. The DescAPI and DescGraphics.dll module are a part of the WhereIsIt software
  86. package and as such a copyrighted material. Using or distributing these 
  87. librarires for any purpose other than running them as a part of WhereIsIt 
  88. is prohibited and in violation of copyright laws.
