  1. WELCOME TO AJE COMPONENTS

  4. INSTALLATION
  5. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  6. To install the ADO Data Class Builder Add-In Component run the Setup.exe program 
  7. that came with your installation set and follow the on-screen instructions.  
  8.  
  9. After the installation has finished, the component will be automatically registered 
  10. with Visual Basic as an Add-In and should appear on the Add-In menu.
  11.  
  12. LICENSE AGREEMENT
  13. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  14.  
  15. PLEASE READ THIS DOCUMENT CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE SOFTWARE.  
  16.  
  17. BY USING THE SOFTWARE, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS OF 
  18. THIS AGREEMENT.  IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THE TERMS OF THE 
  19. AGREEMENT, DO NOT OPEN , INSTALL OR USE THE SOFTWARE.  
  20. PROMPTLY RETURN, WITHIN 15 DAYS, THE SOFTWARE, ALL RELATED 
  21. DOCUMENTATION AND ACCOMPANYING ITEMS TO THE PLACE 
  22. OF ACQUISITION.
  23.  
  24. This is a legal agreement between you and AJEvans Software Components. 
  25.  
  26. This Agreement states the terms and conditions upon which AJEvans Software 
  27. Components offers to license the software together with all related 
  28. documentation and accompanying items including, but not limited to, the 
  29. executable programs, drivers, libraries and data files associated with such 
  30. programs (collectively, the "Software").
  31.  
  32. LICENSE
  33.  
  34. 1.  Grant of License.
  35.     The Software is licensed, not sold, to you for use only under 
  36.     the terms of this Agreement.  You own the disk or other media 
  37.     on which the Software is originally or subsequently recorded 
  38.     or fixed; but, as between you and AJEvans Software Components 
  39.     (and, to the extent applicable, its licensors), AJEvans Software 
  40.     Components retains all title to and ownership of the Software and 
  41.     reserves all rights not expressly granted to you.
  42.  
  43. 2.  For Use on a Single Computer.
  44.     The Software may be used only on a single computer by a single
  45.     user at any time.  
  46.     
  47.     You may transfer the machine-readable portion of the Software 
  48.     from one computer to another computer, provided that:-
  49.     (a) the Software (including any portion or copy thereof) is 
  50.         erased from the first computer and 
  51.     (b) there is no possibility that the Software will be used on 
  52.         more than one computer at a time.
  53.  
  54. 3.  Stand-Alone Basis.
  55.     You may use the Software only on a stand-alone basis, such that 
  56.     the Software and the functions it provides are accessible only 
  57.     to persons who are physically present at the location of the 
  58.     computer on which the Software is loaded.  You may not allow 
  59.     the Software or its functions to be accessed remotely, or 
  60.     transmit all or any portion of the Software through any network 
  61.     or communication line.
  62.  
  63. 4.  Copyright. 
  64.     The Software is owned by AJEvans Software Components and/or its 
  65.     licensees, and is protected by United Kingdom copyright laws and 
  66.     international treaty provisions. You may not remove the copyright 
  67.     notice from any copy of the Software or any copy of the written 
  68.     materials, if any, accompanying the Software.
  69.  
  70. 5.  One Archival Copy.
  71.     You may make one (1) archival copy of the machine-readable 
  72.     portion of the Software for backup purposes only in support of 
  73.     your use of the Software on a single computer, provided that 
  74.     you reproduce on the copy all copyright and other proprietary 
  75.     rights notices included on the originals of the Software.
  76.  
  77. 6.  Network Version.
  78.     If you have purchased a "network" version of the Software, this 
  79.     Agreement applies to the installation of the Software on a 
  80.     single "file server".  It may not be copied onto multiple 
  81.     systems.  Each "node" connected to the "file server" must also 
  82.     have its own license of a "node copy" of the Software, which 
  83.     becomes a license only for that specific "node".
  84.  
  85. 7.  Transfer of License.
  86.     You may transfer your license of the Software, provided that 
  87.     (a) you transfer all portions of the Software or copies thereof, 
  88.     (b) you do not retain any portion of the Software or any copy 
  89.         thereof, and 
  90.     (c) the transferee reads and agrees to be bound by the terms and
  91.         conditions of this Agreement.
  92.  
  93. 8.  Limitations on Using, Copying, and Modifying the Software.
  94.     Except to the extent expressly permitted by this Agreement or 
  95.     by the laws of the jurisdiction where you acquired the Software, 
  96.     you may not use, copy or modify the Software.  Nor may you 
  97.     sub-license any of your rights under this Agreement.  You may use 
  98.     the Software for your personal use only, and not for public 
  99.     performance or for the creation of publicly displayed videotapes.
  100.  
  101. 9.  Decompiling, Disassembling, or Reverse Engineering.
  102.     You acknowledge that the Software contains trade secrets and 
  103.     other proprietary information of AJEvans Software Components and 
  104.     its licensors. Except to the extent expressly permitted by this 
  105.     Agreement or by the laws of the jurisdiction where you are located, 
  106.     you may not decompile, disassemble or otherwise reverse engineer the 
  107.     Software, or engage in any other activities to obtain underlying 
  108.     information that is not visible to the user in connection with 
  109.     normal use of the Software.  
  110.  
  111.     In particular, you agree not for any purpose to transmit the 
  112.     Software or display the Software's object code on any computer 
  113.     screen or to make any hardcopy memory dumps of the Software's 
  114.     object code.  If you believe you require information related to 
  115.     the interoperability of the Software with other programs, you 
  116.     shall not decompile or disassemble the Software to obtain such 
  117.     information, and you agree to request such information from 
  118.     AJEvans Software Components. at the address listed below.  Upon receiving 
  119.     such a request, AJEvans Software Components shall determine whether 
  120.     you require such information for a legitimate purpose and, if so, 
  121.     AJEvans Software Components will provide such information to you within 
  122.     a reasonable time and on reasonable conditions.
  123.  
  124.     In any event, you will notify AJEvans Software Components of any 
  125.     information derived from reverse engineering or such other activities, 
  126.     and the results thereof will constitute the confidential information of 
  127.     AJEvans Software Components that may be used only in connection with 
  128.     the Software.
  129.  
  130. TERMINATION
  131.  
  132. The license granted to you is effective until terminated.  You may 
  133. terminate it at any time by returning the Software (including any 
  134. portions or copies thereof) to AJEvans Software Components.  
  135. The license will also terminate automatically without any notice from 
  136. AJEvans Software Components. if you fail to comply with any term or condition 
  137. of this Agreement.  You agree upon such termination to return the 
  138. Software (including any portions or copies thereof) to 
  139. AJEvans Software Components.  Upon termination, AJEvans Software Components. 
  140. may also enforce any rights provided by law.  The provisions of this Agreement 
  141. that protect the proprietary rights of AJEvans Software Components. 
  142. will continue in force after termination.
  143.  
  144. LIMITED WARRANTY
  145.  
  146. AJEvans Software Components. warrants, as the sole warranty, that the 
  147. disks on which the Software is furnished will be free of defects, as set 
  148. forth in the Warranty Card or printed manual included with the Software.  No 
  149. distributor, dealer or any other entity or person is authorized to 
  150. expand or alter this warranty or any other provisions of this 
  151. Agreement.  Any representation, other than the warranties set forth 
  152. in this Agreement, will not bind AJEvans Software Components.
  153.  
  154. AJEvans Software Components. does not warrant that the functions 
  155. contained in the Software will meet your requirements or that the operation 
  156. of the Software will be uninterrupted, error-free or free from malicious 
  157. code. For purposes of this paragraph, "malicious code" means any 
  158. program code designed to contaminate other computer programs or 
  159. computer data, consume computer resources, modify, destroy, record, 
  160. or transmit data, or in some other fashion usurp the normal operation 
  161. of the computer, computer system, or computer network, including 
  162. viruses, Trojan horses, droppers, worms, logic bombs, and the like. 
  163.  
  164. EXCEPT AS STATED ABOVE IN THIS AGREEMENT, THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED 
  165. AS-IS WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, 
  166. INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF 
  167. MERCHANTABILITY, AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.  AJEVANS COMPONENTS IS 
  168. NOT OBLIGATED TO PROVIDE ANY UPDATES, UPGRADES OR TECHNICAL 
  169. SUPPORT FOR THE SOFTWARE.  
  170.  
  171. Further, AJEvans Software Components. shall not be liable for the 
  172. accuracy of any information provided by AJEvans Software Components. 
  173. or third-party technical support personnel, or any damages caused, 
  174. either directly or indirectly, by acts taken or omissions made by you 
  175. as a result of such technical support. 
  176.  
  177. You assume full responsibility for the selection of the Software to 
  178. achieve your intended results, and for the installation, use and 
  179. results obtained from the Software.  You also assume the entire 
  180. risk as it applies to the quality and performance of the Software.  
  181. Should the Software prove defective, you (and not AJEvans Software 
  182. Components, or its distributors or dealers) assume the entire cost 
  183. of all necessary servicing, repair or correction.
  184.  
  185. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also 
  186. have other rights which vary from country/state to country/state.  
  187. Some countries/states do not allow the exclusion of implied 
  188. warranties, so the above exclusion may not apply to you.  
  189. AJEvans Software Components disclaims all warranties of any kind 
  190. if the Software was customized, repackaged or altered in any way 
  191. by any third party other than AJEvans Software Components.
  192.  
  193. LIMITATION OF REMEDIES AND DAMAGES
  194. THE ONLY REMEDY FOR BREACH OF WARRANTY WILL BE THAT SET FORTH
  195. IN THE WARRANTY CARD OR PRINTED MANUAL INCLUDED WITH THE SOFTWARE. 
  196. IN NO EVENT WILL AJEVANS COMPONENTS OR ITS LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY 
  197. INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR FOR ANY
  198. LOST PROFITS, LOST SAVINGS, LOST REVENUES OR LOST DATA ARISING
  199. FROM OR RELATING TO THE SOFTWARE OR THIS AGREEMENT, EVEN IF 
  200. AJEVANS COMPONENTS OR ITS LICENSORS HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF
  201. SUCH DAMAGES.  IN NO EVENT WILL AJEVANS COMPONENTS LIABILITY OR DAMAGES TO
  202. YOU OR ANY OTHER PERSON EVER EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO USE
  203. THE SOFTWARE, REGARDLESS OF THE FORM OF THE CLAIM. 
  204.  
  205. PRODUCT RETURNS
  206.  
  207. If you must ship the software to AJEvans Software Components. or an 
  208. authorized AJEvans Software Components distributor or dealer, you must 
  209. prepay shipping and either insure the software or assume all risk of 
  210. loss or damage in transit.
  211.  
  212. GENERAL
  213.  
  214. This Agreement is binding on you as well as your employees, 
  215. employers, contractors and agents, and on any successors and 
  216. assignees.  Neither the Software nor any information derived 
  217. therefrom may be exported except in accordance with the laws of 
  218. the United Kingdom. or other applicable provisions. 
  219. This Agreement is the entire agreement between us 
  220. and supersedes any other understandings or agreements, including, 
  221. but not limited to, advertising, with respect to the Software.  
  222. If any provision of this Agreement is deemed invalid or 
  223. unenforceable by any country or government agency having 
  224. jurisdiction, that particular provision will be deemed modified 
  225. to the extent necessary to make the provision valid and 
  226. enforceable, and the remaining provisions will remain in full 
  227. force and effect.  
  228.

  233.  
  234. SPECIAL PROVISIONS
  235. ====================================================================
  236. Distribution
  237.  
  238. Please feel free to distribute the Unregistered version of this 
  239. component.
  240.  
  241. However, we ask that you distribute the entire Unregistered version 
  242. with no modification, and without any charge or fee. The Unregistered 
  243. version can clearly be identified by the startup License 
  244. Notification screen.  The License screen is permanently removed 
  245. only when the product is Registered.
  246.  
  247. Limited Warranty:
  248. EXCEPT AS STATED EARLIER IN THIS AGREEMENT, AND AS PROVIDED 
  249. UNDER THE HEADING "STATUTORY RIGHTS", THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED 
  250. AS-IS WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, 
  251. INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR 
  252. CONDITIONS OF MERCHANTABILITY, QUALITY AND FITNESS FOR A 
  253. PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
  254.  
  255. General:
  256. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. 
  257. The local language version of this agreement shall apply to Software 
  258. acquired in the EU. This Agreement is the entire agreement between 
  259. us and you agree that AJEvans Software Components will not have any 
  260. liability for any untrue statement or representation made by it, its 
  261. agents or anyone else (whether innocently or negligently) upon which you 
  262. relied upon entering this Agreement, unless such untrue statement or 
  263. representation was made fraudulently.
  264.  
  265. EVALUATION
  266. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  267.  
  268. To assess whether a particular component is suitable for your projects all AJE components 
  269. have a 5-day evaluation period in which you have access to full functionality.  
  270.  
  271. However, you will be prompted each time you use the component for the license and after 
  272. the evaluation period you will be locked out of the component until you purchase a valid license.
  273.  
  274. The evaluation version only needs to be unlocked by entering a valid license key, which must 
  275. be purchased from the vendor, and you will not be required to acquire or download another version.  
  276. Using and acquiring an AJE component has been made as easy as possible for developers 
  277. and managers alike and makes integration them into your existing projects a breeze.
  278.  
  279. ReInstallation -- If required, it is safe to reinstall the component at anytime.  
  280.
