  23. Il software Matrox PowerDesk include un driver dello schermo e 
  24. alcune utilitα. L'utilizzo di questo software consente di trarre 
  25. pieno vantaggio dall'hardware della scheda grafica Matrox e di 
  26. accedere alle caratteristiche di visualizzazione aggiuntive.

  32. Per installare Matrox PowerDesk, avviare il programma di 
  33. installazione incluso, quindi seguire le istruzioni che appaiono 
  34. sullo schermo.

  36. Tale programma installerα il software solo se nel computer Φ 
  37. presente un modello supportato di scheda grafica Matrox.

  49. Note, problemi e limitazioni

  52. - Supporto per DirectDraw, Direct 3D e DirectVideo
  53.  
  54.   Il driver DirectDraw fornito dalla Matrox Φ compatibile con 
  55.   DirectX 2 (o versioni successive) e include il supporto per 
  56.   Direct 3D. AffinchΘ venga richiamato il driver DirectDraw/Direct 
  57.   3D e si possa sfruttare l'accelerazione mediante hardware, DEVE 
  58.   essere installato Microsoft DirectX 2 (o una versione 
  59.   successiva), anche per i programmi che erano stati 
  60.   originariamente scritti per Microsoft DirectX 1.

  62.   Inoltre, se non Φ installata una versione recente di DirectX, 
  63.   alcune caratteristiche di Matrox PowerDesk potrebbero non essere 
  64.   disponibili.

  66.   La Matrox fornisce DirectX sul CD-ROM Matrox. La versione pi∙ 
  67.   recente di DirectX Φ disponibile presso il sito della Microsoft 
  68.   sulla Web ed Φ incluso in molti programmi DirectX.

  70.   IMPORTANTE: Se il programma di impostazione di DirectX richiede 
  71.   di sostituire i driver video esistenti, fare clic su "No". In 
  72.   caso contrario, il programma di impostazione installa driver

  78.   DirectX, esso pu≥ non includere il supporto per DirectVideo. Per 
  79.   ottenere una riproduzione pi∙ rapida dei file Indeo e Cinepak 
  80.   AVI, bisogna installare il supporto per DirectVideo Microsoft.

  82. - Bus master Matrox
  83.  
  84.   Il driver supporta il bus master. Il bus master Φ una 
  85.   caratteristica che consente alle schede di espansione di eseguire 
  86.   operazioni contemporaneamente a quelle eseguite dalla CPU del 
  87.   computer. Se si possiede un computer Pentium che esegue le 
  88.   operazioni rapidamente (con velocitα superiore a 166 MHz), le 
  89.   prestazioni dello schermo per la maggior parte dei programmi 
  90.   migliorano quando si usa il bus master.

  92.   Per usare il bus master con i programmi 3D (Direct3D/OpenGL), Φ 
  93.   necessaria una richiesta di interrupt (IRQ -- interrupt request) 
  94.   per la scheda grafica.La maggior parte dei computer assegna 
  95.   automaticamente un'IRQ alle schede grafiche, ma non tutti 
  96.   eseguono tale operazione. Se alla Scheda grafica in dotazione non 
  97.   Φ stato assegnato un'IRQ, i programmi che usano il bus master 
  98.   Matrox possono non funzionare correttamente. Per ulteriori

  101. - DirectDraw e Programmi per la gestione del risparmio energetico

  103.   Come dichiarato in "Microsoft DirectX Release Notes" (Note di 
  104.   rilascio di Microsoft DirectX) del 30 settembre 1995, un gioco 
  105.   DirectDraw pu≥ non riprendere correttamente se viene sospeso dai 
  106.   programmi per la gestione del risparmio energetico.

  108. - Installazione in versioni in lingue diverse di Windows

  110.   Se si installa il software in una lingua diversa da quella del 
  111.   sistema operativo, (per esempio software in inglese in un sistema 
  112.   in giapponese), si possono verificare problemi con il testo e i 
  113.   controlli della finestra di dialogo, che possono risultare 
  114.   troncati. Ci≥ avviene a causa di differenze fra i font di sistema.

  125.       OpenGL support may be disabled with your Matrox display 
  126.       driver. For a Matrox display driver with full OpenGL support 
  127.       enabled, see the Matrox Web site (www.matrox.com/mga). (If 
  128.       your Matrox product was provided by the manufacturer of your 
  129.       computer, check the Web site of that manufacturer for a 
  130.       display driver. A display driver provided by the manufacturer 
  131.       of your computer is more likely to be tested with your 
  132.       computer model.)

  136.     - In 3D Studio MAX 2.0, Φ possibile che si verifichino dei

  145. - DualHead Multi-Display mode under Windows 2000
  146.  
  147.   If you have a DualHead-supporting graphics card and you apply 
  148.   "DualHead Multi-Display" mode under Windows 2000, this version of 
  149.   Windows treats the main and secondary displays of a DualHead-
  150.   supporting graphics card as a single display (which the Matrox 
  151.   display driver divides between two monitors). As a result, these 
  152.   displays always use the same resolution and color palette 
  153.   settings. Also, in your Windows desktop, the virtual positions of 
  154.   these displays are always aligned next to each other.

  156.   While in DualHead Multi-Display mode with a computer monitor as 
  157.   your secondary display, you can't adjust your secondary monitor 
  158.   with the Windows "Monitor" or the Matrox PowerDesk "Monitor 
  159.   Settings" property sheets. If your secondary monitor supports 
  160.   Plug-and-Play (DDC), PowerDesk automatically uses the correct 
  161.   maximum display resolution and refresh rate. If your secondary 
  162.   monitor doesn't support Plug-and-Play, make sure that the correct 
  163.   settings are selected under "Max. secondary resolution" on the 
  164.   Matrox PowerDesk "DualHead" property sheet.

  166. - Video playback with DualHead modes
  167.  
  168.   If you have a a DualHead supporting graphics card and you're 
  169.   using DualHead Multi-Display, Clone, or Zoom mode, digital video 
  170.   may appear as a solid color on your secondary display. This can 
  171.   happen if video is played using the hardware-overlay feature of 
  172.   your Matrox graphics card. Video played using the overlay feature 
  173.   is generally of higher quality but it can be viewed only on your 
  174.   main display.

  176.   Because only one program at a time can use the overlay feature, 
  177.   any other program started while the overlay feature is used won't 
  178.   be able to use the feature. The overlay feature will be available 
  179.   to the first program to start after the program currently using 
  180.   the overlay is closed.

  182.   For video that normally uses the hardware-overlay feature, you 
  183.   may be able to view the digital video on your secondary display 
  184.   by running another instance of the video player. For example, if 
  185.   you're viewing a file using the overlay feature with Microsoft 
  186.   Media Player, double-clicking on the file again starts another 
  187.   instance of the Media Player. This instance properly plays video 
  188.   on your secondary display. Then, you could close the first 
  189.   instance of the Media Player and still be able to view video on 
  190.   your secondary display.

  192. - DualHead DVDMax with a TV
  193.  
  194.   While viewing video with a TV using the "DualHead DVDMax" 
  195.   feature, you may notice occasionnal jerky video playback (dropped 
  196.   frames) after playing a video for a few minutes. If you view 
  197.   video playback with your computer monitor, this problem shouldn't 
  198.   occur.

  206.   questa tavolozza di colori, si pu≥ abilitarla creando la chiave
