  8. Q: I downloaded the update but when I try to run it, it says some
  9.    files are missing. Where can I get these files?
  10. A: The update is for people who have already installed the full
  11.    release, or who already have all the runtimes. Try installing
  12.    the complete release, then the update (if it is a newer version).

  14. Q: I get the error message: MMSYSTEM...
  15. A1: Your MS MediaPlayer may be out of date, or the file you are trying
  16.    to play is unsupported. Download MS MediaPlayer 6.4 or higher.
  17. A2: The file may be corrupt or incompatible with MediaPlayer. Sometimes
  18.    with MP3 files an incorrectly written ID3Tag can cause problems. Use
  19.    a program such as WinAmp to remove the tag and try it again.

  21. Q: I used to be able to play RealAudio/Video files but now I can't.
  22.    What happened?
  23. A: Support was available in MediaPlayer 6.0, but was removed for later
  24.    versions. If you absolutely need to play Real files you must install
  25.    the old 6.0 version of MediaPlayer.

  27. Q: What is the difference between the MPEGVideo and ActiveMovie device?
  28. A: Nothing. They are the same, unless you have installed an MPEG or DVD
  29.    decoder card. These cards re-assign the MPEGVideo device to use the
  30.    hardware decoder. Unfortunately they don't support all the file formats
  31.    that the Microsoft driver does. ActiveMovie is simply the Microsoft
  32.    driver with a different name. See the readme for details.

  34. Q: Why does the FMTuner component stop working?
  35. A: The FMTuner component must be registered.

  37. Q: How do I listen to FM Radio on the internet?
  38. A: Mimic does not yet support internet radio, only FM tuner cards.

  40. Q: Does Mimic support [insert your favorite file type here] files?
  41.    When will it support them?
  42. A: Mimic uses MediaPlayer as it's playback engine and supports any
  43.    format that MediaPlayer does. MediaPlayer is extensible via CODECs,
  44.    so try upgrading MediaPlayer.

  46. Q: When is the next release?
  47. A: I have no set schedule. I release updates when I feel there are enough
  48.    new or useful features to warrant a new release. If you are looking
  49.    for new features please e-mail me and tell me what you want. I can't
  50.    guarantee I will add them but the more requests I receive the greater
  51.    chance I will consider it.
