  5.     File Commander/2 is shareware, NOT free software. You may use it for
  6. up to 30 days free of charge. If you wish to continue using the program after
  7. your trial period is over you must register. Registration costs just A$29 
  8. (~US$25) and can be purchased at:

  24. Installing File Commander/2
  25. ═══════════════════════════

  27.   To install File Commander/2, you need to place the files:
  28.  
  29. fc.exe
  30. fc2.cmd
  31. fc.fch
  32. fc.inf
  33. setup.exe
  34. read.me
  35.  
  36. in a suitable directory and run SETUP. The SETUP program simply creates a folder
  37. on the desktop containing objects for the File Commander/2 program, manual and
  38. Read.Me.
  39.  
  40.   If you want to be able to start FC/2 from the command line, this directory 
  41. needs to be in your PATH. When you first use 'Save Setup' the file fc.ini 
  42. will be written to the same directory. 
  43.  
  44.   If for some reason you change the name of the .exe file, you will also need
  45. to change the name of the .hlp and .ini files to match or they will not be
  46. found. The same applies to any .mnu file you create.
  47.  
  48.   For full archive support you will also need to have these programs installed
  49. somewhere on your PATH or in the same directory as fc.exe:

  74.     o Support for ZIPs made by unix-heads who insist on putting a totally 
  75.        redundant ./ at the front of paths.   
  76.     o Editor: Undo/Redo is now persistent between edits of the same file, 
  77.        just like the cursor position is.   
  78.     o It's now possible to jump directly into an archive using stored path 
  79.        recall, directory history etc.

  84.     o Archive reading would crash on archives with more than 32768 entries.   
  85.     o Found files list box wasn't being updated properly after deleting files 
  86.        from it with F8.   
  87.     o Using Alt-F9 while panels are turned off with Ctrl-O results in 
  88.        incorrect display when they are turned back on.   
  89.     o Win9x only: Fix calculation of total and free disk space on Info panel, 
  90.        was wrapping around at 4GB.   
  91.     o Directory Compare's 'Tag Older' option was tagging older or same 
  92.        date.
